Last Friday saw the opening of the Simon Burch and James Lavelle curated art show, Daydreaming with… The Hong Kong Edition. Daydreaming with… is rebellious and hip, much like its curators. A multi-sensory experience that is anything but conventional, the exhibition is a subtle explosion of visuals, ambient sounds, textures and smell. Uniquely set against black curtains in a dimmed out space, the exhibition feels like the Eyes Wide Shut set team were left in charge—a fresh break from the usual blinding fluorescents of an art gallery. Art Basel Miami Beach, one of the world's most prestigious art shows, is almost here (December 1-4). But no one said you had to be an art fanatic to head down south this week. Besides the amazing warm weather, the art festival is known for its array of special exhibitions, artistic crossovers and collaborations, and of course...the parties. Hey all! Another week, another list of happenings and news of art-related subjects that mostly have to do with the greater Los Angeles area. Tumblr is down and this list is going to be much harder to complete. Other shocks: it's cold! And, snowing! After a great long weekend in the sun in Miami, it's quite the shock to wake up to snow (SNOW!) in nyc this morning. So two bummers today. Let's see if we can get through this anyway.... More»

Basel came and went in a flurry of art, sunshine, and of course, parties. Playboy did what it does best and celebrated the female figure, Paper Magazine brunched while Interview and LVMH held a dinner. Meanwhile, I/D enjoyed the view of the bay from the Mondrian. Take a look below at pictures! More»
