via guestofguest.com: The Quiksilver Pro surfing contest made the bold move to Long Beach, and this time around planned the event be more like a surf festival, with concerts by bands like the Flaming Lips, Interpol and Matt and Kim, plus skate and BMX competitions. The city of Long Beach was expecting over 200,000 to turn out for the the first weekend alone. But since Hurricane Irene hit and caused significant damage to the coast, the music and festival portion was completely canceled. So what's left to actually focus on? The hot surfers! MORE>>>
