Since a majority of our guy readers out there are, no doubt, still perplexed about what to buy their girlfriend for Christmas this weekend, we suggest you take a look at our LA editor, Emily Green's wish list
[Part I] and
[Part II].
Every girl in the GofG office agrees, they would happily take it all! Thanks Emily!

I'm not a fan of the holidays, but I do enjoy presents, even better when they're things I actually want. Despite most people I've talked to sharing this same sentiment, I've found the custom of gift-giving to be a challenge not just for givers, but also givees. Ask someone what they want and nine times out of 10 they'll say they don't know, myself included. Gift guides point us in the right direction from the perspective of the shopper with price and inherent message of the gift in mind. Jay McInerney and and Euan Rellie threw a party at the Bespoke Lounge, in celebration of Assoline's new book, "Vintage Cocktails", which explores "the lost art of mixing the perfect drink". Except, it isn't really a lost art at all, because as countless magazines, newspapers, and blogs have pointed out, Vintage Cocktails are totally en vogue again, and being served up all over the city. Luxurious art publishing house, Assouline held a launch event for their new book- Jacques Fath. Champagne and Books...two of my favorite things, together at last. The Plaza just got a whole lot better, as now, should you ever be interested interested in mixing these two in public, (and not in your own private sancuary), you can. Assouline opened it's first North American Boutique last night on the mezzanine of the newly remodeled plaza. And, the Oak Bar downstairs will happily bring you a glass of champagne for you to enjoy while you browse through hundreds of beautiful art, fashion, and photography works.
