Street art has become an iconic staple of the New York art scene. We've gathered a few of our favorite murals this week that are waiting to be seen. And by the scale of things, they're hard to miss.

On the eve of the Oscars, PC Valmorbida and Jared Najjar's PRISM gallery hosted an exclusive opening preview for Mario Testino, the eponymous exhibition by the world famous fashion photographer now on display. The Sunset Strip gallery was swarming with models, artists, designers, actors and an overall exceptionally good-looking crowd for the event, later followed by a wild after party co-hosted by Gisele Bundchen at the Fleur de Lys mansion in Beverly Hills. Mario Testino should seriously come to town more often because even by L.A. standards, the night was quite a spectacle with supermodels everywhere (kiss, kiss Karolina and Naomi!) and lots of getting down on the dance floor. Last night in NYC, Alexa Chung, Emma Stone, Anna Wintour, and others stepped out for the 9th Annual CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Awards, Anne Hathaway hosted the Women Media Center Awards, Andy Valmorbida and PM Tenore presented the Todd James and Alexis Ross Opening at 560 Washington Street, and more!

L.A.'s art scene has seriously been rocking these days with shows and events that get the youngens excited. Between Terrywood at OHWOW, Mike D's Transmission LA that gave us a multi-sensory experience with performances by Santigold and Diplo and James Franco's Rebel exhibition we've had a steady flow of fresh and interesting art culture pumping through this town. Barry McGee's new solo show kept that trend rolling as it brought out a packed crowd to PRISM for its opening reception Friday night. More»

The opening reception for Clare Rojas' new solo exhibition "Inside Bleak" at PC Valmorbida's PRISM gallery Saturday night was fantastic for two reasons: it had the vibe and crowd that included the likes of Russell Simmons, Rachel Zoe and Derek Blasberg, of one of the better NYC events (this according to New Yorkers who were there), and had absolutely nothing to do with the Oscars (hallelujah). A crowd of a L.A. tastemakers, artists and art lovers gathered at West Hollywood's Prism art gallery last night for the debut of Come As You Are. The merciless traffic courtesy of the Sunset Strip Beautification Project wasn't enough to keep this group from getting a first glimpse of the exhibition, presented in conjunction with RVCA and New Image Art.
