Happy Monday, everyone! Sure, the weekend was pretty rainy, which may (or may not) have affected your outdoor binge-drinking plans, but as it turns out, the real excitement was all indoors anyway, as thousands of our galaxy's greatest heroes, villains and robots got rides from their moms to the Anaheim Convention Center for WonderCon 2012, a ComicCon precursor and, we must admit, a fashion show far more exciting than any that went down in L.A. during a generally unspectacular Fashion Week. But how do these extremely intricate costumes live up to the characters they're based on? Let's dissect our favorites. More»

January is a time for endings and beginnings.  And so goes this week's Art Roundup, which features some stellar exhibits that are closing, and other's that are just getting started.  Antiques, Napoleon, 99 unwashed Occupy Wall Street t-shirts, Elizabeth Bishop, and even Batman make an appearance in our list of New York's hottest art events. So grab your cape, and let's get started. More»

'The Dark Knight Rises' is on its way to New York for filming, and it may well end up meeting up with those protesters down on Wall Street. FUN! More»

via la.guestofaguest:  Year after year, the Teen Choice Awards prove you are never too young to start looking like an idiot in public. Teenagers, since the beginning of time, have fought for their right to wear stupid clothing, from the pompadours of the 1950's, to the JNCO jeans of my own pathetic generation. Specifics may change, but bad teenage fashion isn't going anywhere. MORE>>>

You're never too young to start looking ridiculous in public. I imagine this is the central theme of the 2011 Teen Choice Awards given the fact that teenagers, since the beginning of time, have fought tooth-and-nail for their right to wear horrifyingly stupid clothing, from the two foot brylcreem pompadours of the 1950's, to the JNCO jeans and chain wallets of my own pathetic generation, to whatever in God's name these awful kids today think is cool. The specifics may change, but bad teenage fashion isn't going anywhere. More»

You may notice less activity than usual this weekend outside your local GameStops, movie theaters, and Taco Bells. Don't be alarmed; this just means that our nation's nerds have once again assembled in San Diego for that most glorious of weekend geekfests, the San Diego Comic-Con. Though SDCC has always been popular amongst anyone who's ever rolled a die with more than 6 sides, the event has gotten huge in recent years, with comic book/sci-fi movie stars like Ryan Reynolds, Chris Evans, Will Ferrell, and Robert Pattinson all making appearances. via la.guestofaguest.com: LACMA opened their Tim Burton exhibit this weekend with requisite creepiness. Danny Elfman, Winona Ryder, Crispin Glover, Diablo Cody, Slash, Eva Mendes, Kelly Osborne are just a few of the names that came out for the opening which included a surprise performance by Jane's Addiction. [Tim Burton, Eva Mendes via] I always figured the spookiest thing that would eventually happen at LACMA would be when the ghost dinosaurs rise out of the neighboring Tar Pits and hit up the Contemporary wing, hungry for blood and German Expressionism. In fact, I still believe this, but until that happens, we'll settle for the spookiness of Tim Burton, the straightforwardly named exhibit that opened over the weekend. More»

Lindsay Lohan will play Deep Throat star and porn pioneer Linda Lovelace in an upcoming biopic. It's not the Merchant Ivory prestige pic that would give Lohan some much-needed credibility. But it could set her on a comeback trail previously blazed by another Hollywood wild child, Drew Barrymore. More»
