The Half Street Fairgrounds, aka the beloved parking lot across from Nationals Park that fed us RBV slushies and hosted several epic concerts last summer, is back for the 2013 season! The ultimate fate of the beer garden still hangs by a thread as developers hungrily eye the valuable plot of land, but sources have confirmed that the Fairgrounds will be here all summer, and possibly for 2014 as well. This summer, something new is coming to Half Street by Nationals Stadium: "Fairgrounds," a combination food, market and events space that will be open seven days a week from the beginning of baseball season through October 1. Fairgrounds will use salvaged shipping containers as retail spaces for vendors. Jettie's, the famous sandwich shop with locations in Foxhall and Macomb, has expanded to a third location in Bethesda at 4829 Fairmont Avenue.
