It was a busy Thursday evening in New York last night! The biggest charity event of the evening was the Autism Speaks Summer Benefit (pictured above), held this year at the New York Stock Exchange. Elsewhere, socials were able to eat to their hearts content at "The Hunger" pop-up restaurant, and then burn the calories off at the Crunch 21st Birthday Celebration. More»

While many staycationed this weekend, celebrating the 4th with local pool parties, music fest block parties and beach gatherings, some ventured beyond the wilds of L.A., seeking sanctuary in a land most of us have only ever been to around Coachella time or to visit grandparents: Palm Springs. The Desert's Ace Hotel hosted the GenericAmerica July 4th Weekend celebration where all the bases for an enjoyable getaway were covered. More»

Summer time means BBQ time, and the The BBQ Meat Branding Iron gives a whole new meaning to "there's a steak here with your name on it!". But you aren't limited to just writing your name...the iron comes with "moveable type" letters and numbers. Freak your guests out by branding fake expiration dates or Mad Cow quarantines. It's fun to play with your meat!

Summer is barbeque season and what better way to mix up the classics than with a cuisine known for its grilling. These flavors are second nature to me, and I find that it is my most requested dish of the season. The marinade is similar to teriyaki, yet with the grated Asian pear, sesame seeds, and fresh herbs it adds another dimension. Try it on a variety of proteins such as chicken, fish, even tofu.
Look for my line of ChoSun gourmet condiments soon to be in stores near you!

I don't know if you've noticed, but retro-inspired two-wheelers are getting to be as common round these parts as Rovers and Intermix "beachwear." Most of them are found around the town centers of South, East, and Bridgehampton, the better to be admired, but I've spotted more than a few along 27, and a slew of them up at Surf Lodge in Montauk (but of course).
My own is a buttercup yellow Trek Navigator, with a really pretty russet leather seat and handles, but it's missing the quintessential straw basket. Rotations, has plenty of throwback beauties (the metallic ones, however, are to be avoided at all costs), but no baskets. More»

Going to Studio B to eat? That would never cross my mind, the Greenpoint dance haven doesn't scream good old backyard grill-off or, in it's case, rooftop grill-off. As the BBQ started, the sun set right across the veranda, and burgers wafted through the air...how quaint. The burgers were square and came with all the fixins including slaw an onion-pepper saute. Desert was a brownie or cherry cobler with "anis-almond-Crème anglaise."
The desert was hands down the best part, especially when the food more or less ran out about an hour in. As the evening rolled on the bbq became a bar and Daft Punk emerged from the speakers, as it should at Studio B.
