As the only beach bar in the District, the New York Avenue Beach Bar is opening its doors just in time for the long Memorial Day weekend. The buzz for the bar has been growing for the past few months and there were rumors of the opening being on Cinco de Mayo. More»

[Photo via] The lines in the Hamptons this weekend were record-breaking long. Stopping to get gas or running into CVS easily cost you a minimum 20-minute wait. But one of the longest lines of them all wrapped the BookHampton shop in East Hampton on Friday afternoon. There was no agitated impatience on this line, as eager fans waited for the meet and greet with Oscar winner turned author, Gwyneth Paltrow. She gladly signed copies of her recently completed project, a collection of 150 recipes, called "My Father's Daughter: Delicious, Easy Recipes Celebrating Family and Togetherness."

It was not just a typical night at the Napeague stretch's newest establishment, Banzai Burger. Yes, the lots were packed, the mosquitoes were biting and those herb fries were being shoveled down my throat all too quickly, but on Friday night, Vogue’s Jillian Demling, along with Karen Mulligan from Annie Leibovitz's studio, celebrated the new collection for their Pret-A-Surf swimwear line, making the night also a particularly fashionable one. The beach isn't meant to be an outdoor runway, but let's make it one! Besides, everyone is checking everyone else out on the beach anyway, so throw on your floppy hat and a couple of bangles and you have instantly become beach chic. Plus, you want to avoid that salty beach rat look. Yikes! More»

After an eventful first night at the Sunset Lane residence, Team GofG spent the better part of Sunday morning slumbering our way to renewal. We roused around eleven and spent a couple of hours by the pool with our posse (the living really is rough down here), before heading out into the Hamptons world in search of adventures profound.

Who says you have to leave the Lower East Side to enjoy a leisurely Sunday at the beach? New Yorkers who didn't make it out to the Hamptons this weekend had the opportunity to hang out at a backyard beach party at The Suffolk in support of Goods For Good, a charity which sends excess goods from the US to children in developing countries.
