The Half Street Fairgrounds hosted the inaugural Capitol Groove Festival on Saturday, which showcased some rising talent in DC's music scene, like Drop Electric, Lightwaves, The Silver Liners, Redline Graffiti, and The Blackout Project. Other bands included The Weathervanes, Clones of Clones and DJ sets by Groove Merchant. More»

On Saturday, Regional Food and Drink hosted the Making Strides for MS Pong-A-Thon. Thirty-two teams of two gathered to play the popular college game of beer pong that raised almost $5k.

All the proceeds will be going to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, National Chapter, to fund research and local programs.

The winning team of Jill and Josh Mersfeider won a $300 cash prize plus fun championship belts commemorating their achievement. More»

We're not quite sure what it is, but males seem to think this is a really macho thing to do and it gives them a chance to indulge their delicate egos independently, meaning a) girls get the day off from having to make the men feel confident on BBQ day, and b) girls can sit back and relax until their perfectly cooked burger (it will be perfect since the guys' manhood depend on it) is ready for eating.
