Best $2k I ever spent

When we released the exclusive scoop on Tiēsto's intimate Monday night set at Josephine nightclub, we were prepared for one wild evening with Club GLOW. But nothing, absolutely nothing could have prepared us for a night that will go down forever in the annals of DC nightlife history.

Let's say you're Robin Thicke, noted Canadian songwriter and musician and improbable frequent Lil' Wayne collaborator. You've recently made some questionable headlines for getting arrested for smoking weed in NYC, which, if you've ever been to NYC, is really, really hard to do. You have two choices: either stop smoking weed (and eff that, am I right?), or go to a place where you'd probably have to ask the Chief of Police to block the wind while you roast a J in order to get arrested. As you can probably guess, Robin chose option B, and spent the weekend in Vegas celebrating the opening of the Lily Bar & Lounge (and playing an impromptu mini-set) inside the Bellagio alongside other notables like Alexandra Richards, Rick Fox, Eliza Dushku, Whitney Port, and more. Public transportation: always an adventure! As can be expected from a universally accessible service, a ride on the bus or the subway often involves exciting interactions with deranged loners, unique new smells, and mystery puddles! All in all, it's the kind of thing that really makes you want to take your pants off. Check out NYC's no pants subway ride HERE and LA's version HERE.

Ten-piece Mariachi bands, that guy who yells "Jee-zus" over and over again to no one in particular, and 3,500 people without pants-these are just a few of the situations you encounter whilst riding the New York City subway.  This past Sunday, we experienced an influx of the latter.  Here is a scantily-clad recap. "You gotta pardon Jay (and Kanye), for selling out the Garden in a day"

Last night, rap phenoms Jay-Z and Kanye West took the stage at Madison Square Garden for their much-buzzed about Watch the Throne tour.  There were sharks, tigers, carnival barkers, pyrotechnics, Givenchy blouses, screaming babies in Mozart wigs, Leonardo DiCaprio- okay, maybe not all of those things, but apparently it was a pretty sick show.  Here's a little recap of last night's sold-out spectacular.

"Take away love and our earth is a tomb."
- Robert Browning

The world is no longer a familiar place.  In what can only be described as an earth-shattering turn of events, Kim Kardashian has filed for divorce from that guy who plays on the Nets and sort of looks like Taylor Lautner, but 8 feet tall. And yeah, we get that she paid $2k on Mason's wing-tipped alligator pimp shoes alone- but 300 million doesn't quite roll off the tongue... More»

The noble crowd down in Zuccotti may be trying to end corporate greed, legalize gay marriage, fight for animal rights, human rights, muppet rights, reissue Crystal Pepsi, create jobs, bring back Arrested Development (ACCOMPLISHED), and reform taxes - but the real payoff from this movement is the memes. [Photo via]

Checking back in on the 1%: The Battle Of The Brunches continues! This past Saturday, Day & Night stepped up to the plate with their 3rd Anniversary Brunch Bash at Ajna Bar showing no signs of stopping with scantily-clad dancers, magnums of Dom, and of course- more sparklers than a birthday cake.  Happy 3rd B-day Day & Night! via la.guestofaguest.com: I'm going to be out of town this weekend, but that doesn't mean I don't mourn the death of Sunset Junction almost as much as those of you who were planning to be there. It's not because I believe community is important, or because I really want you guys to have a good time, only simply because street fairs and music festivals are a phenomenal source of colorful characters. I'm going to be out of town this weekend, but that doesn't mean I don't mourn the death of Sunset Junction almost as much as those of you who were planning to be there. And I say that not because I believe community is important, or because I really want you guys to have a good time, or anything suspiciously selfless like that. I say it because street fairs and music festivals are a phenomenal source of weirdos and colorful characters. More»

I love Chicago. Most of my family is from there, so I get to go back every so often, and I always have a great time. It's big, fun, cheap, friendly, accessible and full of cool places and buildings. It might be, pound for pound, the best city in America. Or at least, it might have been the best city in America. Based on these Cobra Snake photos of a Crystal Castles show/pre-Lollapalooza costume party, I'm a little worried that Chi Town may have been built on an Indian Burial Ground or something. Is Lollapalooza always this scary? [all photos via]
