According to the IOC (International Olympic Committee) and USOC (United States Olympic Comitte) guidelines, Olympic athletes will be permitted to blog! IOC by-laws have traditionally only allowed people accredited as media to act as journalists or reporters, however, the amended guidelines read,
"The IOC considers blogging, in accordance with these Guidelines, as a legitimate form of personal expression and not as a form of journalism."
Not a form of journalism!?! What has this world come to? We'll show them...huff and puff. Now we’ll get to hear everything from the horses’ mouth. We can see what Michael Phelps has to say, or better yet Amanda Beard or Jenny Finch, without having it sugar-coated and varnished by NBC’s Bob Costas. Journalism shmournalism, I’m liking the sound of this.
