Last night, the hottest room in the city played host to its hottest guests. The Boom Boom Room was booming last night. It was (yet another) celebration of the DVD release of VALENTINO: The Last Emperor, but let’s be honest, it was really just a chance to dance next to Madonna. Hosted by Giancarlo Giammetti, Director Matthew Tyrnauer, and Jesus Luz, it was the party to see and be seen at. Read who stopped by below… More»

[Photo by JOE SCHILDHORN for PMc]. Describing this picture as fierce wouldn’t even begin to do it justice. The cleavage! The orange skin! The leather pants! Valentino and Madonna (along with practically the entire Who’s Who of New York society) spent yesterday evening dancing and drinking at The Boom Boom Room in celebration of the DVD release of “Valentino: The Last Emperor“.  Be sure to check back later in the day for our extended coverage…

With the explosion of the Boom Boom Room, he is basically sitting back and letting the stars swarm around his Standard Hotel. This Saturday he had a party at the bar, well, just cause. Naomi Watts, Griffin Dunne and Patrick McMullan stood out among the banquettes of beautiful people, but there is one girl about which we’re especially curious. More»

Jared Leto If you weren’t obsessed with My So-Called Life, then you are either 1) male, 2) a lot older than me, 3) a lot younger than me (in which case you probably annoy me) or 4) were seriously uncool in high school. The mid-90’s drama of an overanalytical girl navigating her first love was addictive, and Jared Leto had a lot to do with that. Aloof, dangerously handsome, a bit of a bad boy; he screamed “rescue,” to us long before we learned about the wrong type of guy, and why we should stay away from them. More»

If you have ever stepped foot inside the member’s only Soho House, there’s a very good chance you have seen Roberto Monticello. My fascination with the man began, I’m sure, not unlike many others before me. Word of mouth: “See that guy in the yellow shirt and red blazer? They call him the Mayor of Soho House,” exclaimed my friend last Tuesday night. I watched as dozens of people passed by to pay their respects. Always jovial in spirits, this man appeared to know everyone in the room. At least they all knew him. When he took his throne in the chair outside of the 6th floor elevators, I made my move.

“Hello. I heard you’re the Mayor and I would like to meet you.”

“Ha. Sit my child. The mayor eh? The Mayor of what?”

“The Mayor of Soho House sir.”

(laughs) “I am the Mayor maybe, but the Mayor of Meatpacking is a better description.”

Thus started my time spent with Roberto.

So…how exactly does one become the Mayor of Meatpacking? More»

We asked, and over 500 of you answered! Noah Tepperberg’s Avenue, a seemly reincarnation of Bungalow 8 was leading for most of the past week, however, The Boom Boom Room managed to squeeze out the win the last several days.  While the Jane Hotel is a close 3rd, the recent residential uproar might make its a non-player this fall as the end seems nigh for Miss Jane.
