Confession time: everyone who works in our office is older than 17, and it thus follows that we were slightly concerned about Day Two of HARD Summer after a Day One experience that was utterly brilliant. With the Joseph Kony of dubstep, Skrillex, headlining the day, would we find ourselves too old for HARD? Well, we needn't have feared, for as we discovered, HARD maestro Gary Richards has a gift for festival scheduling, the results of which were another perfect day of something for everyone, even jaded old 20-somethings like us. With the crazy amount of parties, concerts and special events going on in town this past weekend, it would have been almost impossible for you not to find yourself in the middle of something exciting. But the hands-down epicenter of excitement in L.A. this weekend was undoubtedly HARD Summer, the 2-day EDM/electronica rave festival held at the L.A. State Historic Park. We've been hyping it up for weeks now, but with the dust still settling, we feel it's important to confirm that, true to our predictions, it was indeed everything we hoped for. More»

One of the drawbacks to many electronic music shows is that they take place indoors. As much fun as a club night with a major headlining DJ can be, a sweaty, claustrophobic indoor space is just kind of the wrong look when you're in the middle of a summer as beautiful as we've been having here in Southern California*. That's why we're beyond thrilled for next weekend (August 3 + 4)'s HARD Summer, Downtown L.A.'s annual massive rave-style outdoor music festival, which looks to seriously up the ante this year with 2 days of music across 4 stages and an insane lineup that should satisfy ravers, indie kids and even hip hop heads. Read on for the full lineup, set times and more! More»

A good idea, a lot of hard work, and the right attitude can go an incredibly long way, which is how online vintage retailer Nasty Gal went from a one-person eBay venture to an insanely fast-growing international business with hundreds of thousands of customers in just six years. Nasty Gal founder Sophia Amoruso celebrated the site's recent redesign, launch of the Nasty Gal blog, and general success with a Sky Ferreira-hosted, Breakbot DJ'ed blowout at the Roosevelt's Tropicana Bar last night.
