The much awaited 9 to 5: The Musical premiered last night here at New York's Marriott Marquis Theater. Dolly Parton, who starred as Doralee Rhodes in the 1980s obsession, was out in full force and wowing the crowd in a full white get-up. The country legend wrote over 20 new songs for the show that weren't in the original movie which made the musical even more anticipated by audiences. More»

The New York screening of "Every Little Step", the movie following the struggle of real-life dancers auditioning for the 2006 Broadway revival of "A Chorus Line", was held last night at The Paris Theatre. In attendance were not only the actors currently in the Broadway show, but many of those who were featured in "Every Little Step" who just didn't quite make the final cut. The cast of Broadway's Reasons To Be Pretty celebrated their transfer from the small stage to the big one with the opening of their show on April 2nd. The after party for the play was held a the Hudson Terrace, and drew a crowd that included the four person cast of Thomas Sadoski, Piper Perabo, Steven Pasquale, and Marin Ireland. For director Terry Kinney and cast, being pretty paid off; The audience seemed to love the show. More»

august osage countyLet me begin by saying that, August: Osage County is hands down my favorite play I have ever seen. It resembles a contemporary "A Long Day's Journey Into the Night," but with much more humor and excitement. (Off the record, I found "A Long Day's Journey Into the Night" boring and tedious). Although the play runs three hours (which is why I had my reservations), I was intrigued from beginning to end, and almost wish it lasted longer. The humor was witty with crass and the acting was impeccable from every single actor.
