Rich social types have started making money instead of just spending it. A new W Magazine article discusses the recent batch of socialite types who’ve decided that a DJ career is the latest must-have accessory. Spinners who’ve actually studied their craft aren’t thrilled. We’ve written about real deal DJs and where to hear them before. But we also don’t think that conflict between the dilettantes and the dedicated is necessary. More»

Richie Akira, Scott Sartiano[All photos by JP PULLOS for PMc]. Last night’s Caron Renaissance Save a Life celebration at Butter marked the 20 year anniversary for the addiction treatment and recovery scholarship organization. Lorraine Bracco, Joy Bryant and Jane Oster were among those toasting the birthday, as were the venue’s owners, nightlife czars Richie Akiva and Scott Sartiano. A dinner and auction followed speakers’ candid discussion of their involvement with the charity, now crossing into a third decade of helping its South Florida facility patients. More»

Last night, Scott Buccheit went to not one, but two events at The Box. Luckily, he documented it all for us, from the premiere of Jude Law’s Rage, to Peace One Day, and lastly a birthday party at Butter. More»

The EldridgeSo there was a lot of hubbub caused by our one little paragraph about the Eldridge last week. Who broke the story, what’s the Eldridge like, etc…Matt Levine decided to end some of the controversy and give us an “exclusive” first look at the Eldridge and allow us to publish the first ever pictures right here on Guest of a Guest.

We did a little walk through on Saturday at the Eldridge and it is truly a beautiful space. The club features a hand-stamped golden floor with customized golden flakes, chocolate chesterfield leather banquettes, exposed brick on one side, and then customized crystallized field stone on the other. The room will be highlighted with an Armand de Brignac champagne wall, valued at over $650,000. The room will have only 13 tables with a capacity of 150 people.

“Oh I just saw you naked” Scott (very jovially) to Lindsay Price.

“Just what I want to hear the minute I walk into a party.” Lindsay Price feigning modesty and decency (from Lipstick Lesbian, Mamary Mafia, Cashmere Jungle, whatever show she is on that nobody is watching, that we watched once only because Leven was guest-starring)

“Well if you are so offended maybe you shouldn’t have posed in Esquire Magazine for a story titled, “My First Nude Photo Shoot.” Scott said, as we walked away.

So began our night at Longchamps!

Gotham Magazine is debuting their annual picks of the city’s top 100 bachelors. Here is a highlight a few of the several picks:

-Both Jason Strauss and Noah Tepperberg of Marquee fame.

-Jared Kushner, owner of the Observer. (ummm…isn’t he dating Ms. Trump?)

-Eric Em, the “guest relations manager” (whatever that means) of Soho House.

-Kipton Cronkite, financial nerd.

-Jesse Keyes, real estate developer and co-owner of La Esquina, Lead invester of Goldbar.

-Richie Akiva, co-owner of Butter and self-perfected name dropper.

-Adam Albert, director of promoters, 1-OAK and Butter.

-Jeffrey Jah, Co-owner, Double Seven and Inn LW12

So let’s get this straight, the top single men here are promoters and club owners?!! Doesn’t this seem a little skewed? What about the artists, musicians, actors, writers, etc.? For a full list of bachelors, go here.

…So claims Richie Akiva, owner of Butter with partner Scott Sartiano, to NY Mag.  1OAK is set to open on October 19th at 453 West 17th street and Richie isn’t talking…at least about the new club which he “really wants to be a surprise”.  One thing he is talking about is his diet, though even that comes off sounding too cool for us.  Here are some of our takes from the interview:

-Richie starves himself for the Jewish holidays, and has since he was a baby.  This includes not even allowing himself water or a face wash for 24 hours.

-His favorite cereals are Apple Jacks and Frosted Mini Wheats.

-He eats at either Butter, Bar Pitti, Da Silvano, or Cipriani for lunch everyday.

-Sundays are his “wifey days”…“Sunday I don’t do anything except hang out with my girlfriend at the time, whoever that may be. I call that day ‘wifey day.’” Um…cute?

-Number of times he “name dropped” during his interview about his “DIET”=

1.) Wednesday, September 19th: “I didn’t eat dinner. I had a big party for Puffy’s fragrance launch at a townhouse — basically a mansion — on 67th Street and Madison.” (One)

2.) Tuesday, September 18th: “I had dinner at the Waverly Inn with my partner Scott Sartiano…. I’m always with interesting people. The other day I was with Scott and his girlfriend, Jamie Lynn-Sigler. Then I was with Puff one night at dinner at the Gramercy.” (Two, Three, Four-for mentioning the Wavery Inn and the Gramercy in the same day)

3.) Monday, September 17th: “I had dinner at Butter with Diana Ross’s son Evan Ross, and a bunch of my friends and a couple of big model girls…Monday nights are rocking stronger than ever. We had Terrence Howard, Kimora Lee, Russell Simmons, and a whole bunch of race-car drivers like Jeff Gordon and Edie Irvine and Jimmy Johnson. Cuba Gooding Jr. was there. They come up to my table and say hi.” (8 count them, 8 name drops, plus one for the models, brings total to 13).

4.) Saturday, September 15: “…then I went to Nobu…That’s like a family place for me.  One of my best friends is Robert De Niro’s son, so I’ve been going there since the day it opened. They take care of me very well there.

Total Name Drops: 14 (This has to be a record for “The New York Diet” piece the magazine runs).

For the full interview on Richie’s hip eating habits go here.

We’re pretty sure it’s going to take a lot more than one new club opening to “change new york’s nightlife”, but we are hoping that Richie surprises us all and proves our doubts wrong.

Line to get inside Pink Elephant, Southampton, Saturday night:

And the winlner for this weekend’s best night spot in the Hamptons goes to Pink Elephant. Even without the redesign new fish hanging from the celing (the work of designer Steve Lewis), without the celebrity girlfriends hanging off of the owner’s arms (Heather Graham has been dating Charles Ferri the co-owner of Star Room since last summer), and without the famous gatekeepers like Rich Thomas at the door, Pink manages to win our vote for best spot and here’s why:

The crowd was the hottest, the music made us want to boogie, and the infamous “scent machine” was in full effect:
