When Chace Crawford has a good night, looks-wise, it’s sort of unfair to humanity. And last night at the premiere of Penn Badgley’s new movie, The Stepfather, Chace was having a very, VERY good night. Like, possibly the best he’s ever looked. Also in attendance were Ed Westwick, Taylor Momsen, Matthew Settle, Connor Paolo, and Jessica Szohr (also looking even prettier than usual. Which, again, is not fair, because if anyone deserves to have a night where they look prettier than usual it shouldn’t be a cast member of Gossip Girl.) Suspiciously missing? Filming outside our Bowery office, Gossip Girl has made coming to work a lot more enjoyable. Now in Day 2 of watch, we can confirm that Chace Crawford is still deathly handsome (you’d think he’s hawking plaid from the model shots, below), almost disconcertingly so. Also, DJ Nick Cohen is apparently friends with the cast, either that or he’s making an appearance this season (possibly following on again off again girlfriend Alexandra’s premiere episode cameo?). Last night, John Varvatos hosted Free The Noise, a battle of the bands between three indie groups - The Howlers, The Fast Romantics, and The Reckless Sons (who were also the winners!). Varvatos himself was one of the judges along with Jane’s Addiction’s Perry Farrell, photographer Mick Rock, and SPIN editor Doug Brod. Last night GQ and Dior Homme hosted dinner guests including Mischa Barton, Rachel Bilson, Hayden Christiansen, Chace Crawford, Josh Hartnett, Taylor Momsen, Miranda Kerr and Byrdie Bell; gathered at the Cooper Square Hotel penthouse to honor Dior Homme Artistic Director Kris Van Assche, making his first official press appearance in the United States. The dinner was picturesque, to say the very least.

August marks that special time in the summer when the interns return to their college campuses, and the Manhattan finally gets its city back.  With just over a month until the Season Three premiere of Gossip Girl, the full cast has begun to return for an aggressive filming schedule.  We hear Blake Lively, Leighton Meester, Penn Badgley, Chance Crawford, Taylor Momsen, and newcomer Hilary Duff were all on time for an early morning taping in the West Village yesterday - hope this doesn’t put cramp in the Gossip Girl’s class schedule. Among the eager-to-text crowd were the ever-pretty Chace Crawford, World Champion (I mean, he’s wearing both a t-shirt and a hat that say it, so it’s true) Judah Friedlander, Ugly Betty stars Ana Ortiz and Mark Indelicato, and New York’s ultimate downtown kid Chloe Sevigny, who wowed in a Kimberly Ovitz dress.
