A Brooklyn woman cleaned out her closet and found an Andy Warhol self-portrait which had been given to her by the singer in 1967, and it’s now being auctioned off at Sotheby’s for at least $1 million. So. You know. Clean your closets, everybody. [NY Post]

When Chace Crawford has a good night, looks-wise, it’s sort of unfair to humanity. And last night at the premiere of Penn Badgley’s new movie, The Stepfather, Chace was having a very, VERY good night. Like, possibly the best he’s ever looked. Also in attendance were Ed Westwick, Taylor Momsen, Matthew Settle, Connor Paolo, and Jessica Szohr (also looking even prettier than usual. Which, again, is not fair, because if anyone deserves to have a night where they look prettier than usual it shouldn’t be a cast member of Gossip Girl.) Suspiciously missing? Penn’s girlfriend Blake Lively. Instead, the blonde at Penn’s side was co-star Amber Heard. More »
Filming outside our Bowery office, Gossip Girl has made coming to work a lot more enjoyable. Now in Day 2 of watch, we can confirm that Chace Crawford is still deathly handsome (you’d think he’s hawking plaid from the model shots, below), almost disconcertingly so. Also, DJ Nick Cohen is apparently friends with the cast, either that or he’s making an appearance this season (possibly following on again off again girlfriend Alexandra’s premiere episode cameo?). Or maybe he just needed to sit and catch his breath, on the trailor steps. More »
Last night, John Varvatos hosted Free The Noise, a battle of the bands between three indie groups - The Howlers, The Fast Romantics, and The Reckless Sons (who were also the winners!). Varvatos himself was one of the judgesalong with Jane’s Addiction’s Perry Farrell, photographer Mick Rock, and SPIN editor Doug Brod. Also in attendance were heart throb Chace Crawford and actor Dennis Quaid. More »
Last night GQ and Dior Homme hosted dinner guests including Mischa Barton, Rachel Bilson, Hayden Christiansen, Chace Crawford, Josh Hartnett, Taylor Momsen, Miranda Kerrand Byrdie Bell; gathered at the Cooper Square Hotel penthouse to honor Dior Homme Artistic Director Kris Van Assche, making his first official press appearance in the United States. The dinner was picturesque, to say the very least. More »
One of our readers just sent in word that Gossip Girl is filming on 25th street between 7th and 8th RIGHT NOW. OMFG! They sent a photo of Chace too! From our inbox:
“Everyone is in twenties flapper clothes. Blake in blue. Supposedly Halloween episode. Also the same episode in which Tyra will appear as Josephine Baker.”
Be our eyes and ears out on the streets of Manhattan like this loyal reader. Send in your tips to tips@guestofaguest.com!

August marks that special time in the summer when the interns return to their college campuses, and the Manhattan finally gets its city back. With just over a month until the Season Three premiere of Gossip Girl, the full cast has begun to return for an aggressive filming schedule. We hear Blake Lively, Leighton Meester, Penn Badgley, Chance Crawford, Taylor Momsen, and newcomer Hilary Duff were all on time for an early morning taping in the West Village yesterday - hope this doesn’t put cramp in the Gossip Girl’s class schedule. [Chloe Sevigny, Brooke Shields. Photos by JIMI CELESTE for PMc] Sore thumbs abounded on the Lower East Side on Wednesday night at the launch of Sprint’s new phone, the BlackBerry Tour , at the Thompson Hotel. Among the eager-to-text crowd were the ever-pretty Chace Crawford, World Champion (I mean, he’s wearing both a t-shirt and a hat that say it, so it’s true) Judah Friedlander, Ugly Betty stars Ana Ortiz and Mark Indelicato, and New York’s ultimate downtown kid Chloe Sevigny, who wowed in a Kimberly Ovitz dress. Other guests included Brook Shields, Nico Tortorella, Ashley Madekwe, Olivia Palermo, Fern Mallis, Theodora Richards, Robert Verdi, Nicole Miller, Julie Henderson, Genevieve Jones, Byrdie Bell, and Marjorie Gublemann Raein.More »
Bridgehampton Polo officially kicked off Saturday afternoon with the Mercedes Benz Polo Challenge and will be making it’s way through everyone’s Hamptons social calendar for the next six Saturdays of summer. New Yorkers and East End regulars including Star Jones, Richard Johnson, Noah Tepperberg, Adrien Field, Douglas Marshall, The Zarin Family, Chace Crawford, Beth Ostrosky Stern, and many more stopped by the Blue Star Jet Field to cheer on the polo players during their opening day while socializing and fitting in photo ops, of course.
