Rescheduled after Hurricane Irene decided to rain on the original party date, the Hamptons Rocks for Charity opened up the Labor Day weekend with their summer charity event. Guests who attended got to rock out to a Crosby, Still & Nash rock show in East Hampton. Proceeds from the event benefited Ovarian Cancer Research Fund and Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America. Last night was totally "girls night" at the Gail Rothwell boutique in East Hampton. Retailer Gail Rothwell opened her doors for the East Hampton Shop at Sunset night to benefit The Retreat, the only women's shelter in East End. Guests enjoyed trunk shows featuring Amy Conway's signature jewelry collection, music, special offers and light refreshments. The night marked the first initiative benefiting The Retreat which apparently, according to director Jeffrey Friedman, was in need of funds to assist women and children in crisis at its the demand for its services has increased.
