As we saw at the S.K.A.M. Saturdays opening poolside bash at Drai's, L.A. has never been more ready for summer and pool party season to commence. The pools are heated, the DJs are on deck, our swimwear is on point, and legions of inflatable crocodiles and turtles await being floated upon, so it's your move, Mother Nature. Helping warm L.A. up until our favorite time of year arrives was Sunday's Peligroso "Cinnco" de Mayo celebration at the Hollywood Roosevelt's poolside Tropicana bar. See how fashionable guests like Louise Roe and fiancé Josh Slack got into the summer spirit lounging poolside while sipping on the new Peligroso Cinnamon tequila as the turntable stylings of Mayer Hawthorne and DJ Snake Cut filled the sun-soaked afternoon.

L.A.'s masked Mexican wrestling phenomenon went all out for the holiday yesterday with the Lucha VaVOOM "Cinco de Mayan" Spectacular, bringing audiences a winning combination of various Mexican customs and entertainment. Held at The Mayan theater, the evening featured mariachis, "chicas fighting," feathered Aztec dancers, low riders, tamales, tequila, very sexy burlesque dancers, and of course the theatrical masked wrestling matches. Do you think your Cinco de Mayo got weird? Well, unless it involved dancing little people in full cholo and chola regalia or men in unitards kicking each other in the head, it doesn't hold a candle to Lucha VaVOOM's...

Cinco de Mayo became more like "Cinco de Drinko" all across the city this weekend. The Mexican independence day inspired a multitude of outdoor patio parties, refreshing drink specials, wardrobe accessories from sombreros to mustaches and more! NYC threw down from Thrillist's Taco Knockout in Brooklyn to Hudson Terrace's dance party in Midtown. We have rounded up the best Instagrams from all the fiestas from around the country. More»

Following last weekend's surprise Rolling Stones show, The Echo and Echoplex continued BritWeek festivities last night with a performance from English electro-pop artist Little Boots, and supporting acts Avan Lava and Feathers presented by IHEARTCOMIX. As a "Go See A Show" featured act, we were psyched to get down to this tiny songstress, who packs some serious pipes and high-energy stage presence.

1 tequila, 2 tequila, 3 tequila, floor! This Cinco de Mayo is a very special one indeed. Not only can you rock the sombrero and mustache, but also your finest Kentucky Derby hat and pastel dress. Double the hats, double the fun. When the stars align like this, how could you not celebrate? Check out where to get your drink on this weekend and have a happy Cinco de Derby! More»

Although commonly believed to be the Mexican Independence Day (it's not), Cinco de Mayo is actually little more than an excuse to eat tacos, drink a lot of tequila, and dust off the sombrero you saved from your spring break adventures south of the border. Since Washingtonians are always in search of a reason to celebrate, here are the best restaurants and bars in DC to spend your Cinco de Mayo Sunday:

With rampant FOMO this past weekend over the nearly impossible-to-get-into unbelievable show at the Echoplex by one and only rock legends, The Rolling Stones, you my need a little boost and we have just what you're looking for. With a Stones show at The Staples Center to kick off their "50 and Counting" tour, you can get your fill of Mick, Keith, Charlie and Ronnie in the flesh. And the fun doesn't end there, with many other shows featuring artists like The Killers, Pyyramids and and Little Boots to see this week to cover your live music fix.  We've gathered all the best ones happening in the area for you in this handy guide, so grab a friend, a lover, or just roll solo and go see a show!

Following evening live music events featuring the likes of Santigold and James Murphy, night 16 of the 17-day Transmission LA: AV Club interdisciplinary art festival at MOCA curated by Mike D had to go big. Perhaps that's why Diplo, everyone's favorite DJ/producer/BlackBerry spokesperson, was tapped to close out one of the undisputed coolest L.A. cultural happenings to go down in recent history with one of his signature panty-dropping DJ sets on Cinco de Mayo Saturday night. It was also just a day after the tragic news of the death of the event maestro's fellow Beastie Boy, MCA AKA Adam Yauch, so see how Diplo paid tribute to the rapper who taught us how to get ill.
