Let us catch our breath before we begin. Ok, ready, here we go.

We began our night with dinner at La Esquina with Matt Levine. Matt is the owner/designer of Steelo Clothing but we weren’t there to discuss clothes. He was excited to tell us about his newest venture, The Eldridge. The Eldridge is the name of the new club that is going to be opening within the next couple of weeks. We know you’ve all heard this before, but we believe this time it’s true, the Eldridge is going to be unlike any club in New York City. The Eldridge is going to be more exclusive and luxurious than anything currently out there. It is going to raise the bar on New York nightlife. And that’s all we can say…for now.

It was another busy night for us. We started the evening by stopping by the BR Concept store, which recently launched their summer collection. Our good friend Aloisio Vilas Boas is a co-owner and he showed us around the store. The store carries Brazillian brands such as Tufi Duek, Rosa Cha and Colcci. (one of my photographers at Artwing, Gui Paganini just shot the campaign with the amazing Giselle!) We sipped champagne as we shopped-very chic.

fortunoff’s turkey

[Fortunoff's Thanksgiving Turkey, 5th avenue store window]

This Thanksgiving, we here at gofg would like to take this time to go over some of the things we are most thankful for this year. So here goes:

Guest of a Guest’s Most Thankful List:

-Armin Amiri for “Just seeing Cuba” and likewise needing us to experience his vision, thus creating Socialista.

-”Cocaine Highs” at The Box, for giving us a reason to dance with midget whores.

-Guidos and Guidettes for the massive quantity of material they provide us with each week.

-Rob Rich and his team for the extensive amount of coverage they provided us with this summer out east.

-Izzy Gold, LOLA, Unruly Heir, Tibi, Heatherette, and Abigail Lorrick, for keeping us in style.

-Polo matches, horse races and crew regattas for hours of WASP-sightings.

-Olivia, Tinsley, and Lydia for continuing to teach us the ways of becoming a socialite.

-Urban Rebounding classes for giving us yuppie buns of steel.

-Kenny Kenny , Richie Rich and the Club Kids…do we really need a reason?

-Mark and Eugene, Richie and Scott, Jason and Noah, Amy, and Danny A for continuing to take care of our need to party, and Nikola for the detailed documentation.

-The Martignetti brothers for giving us a chance to wear our hampton gear well into the fall and winter, and for giving all of our tall, popped-collared prepster friends a place to mingle with thier blonde future wives.

-Nello and the Cipriani’s , for giving us tales from the “battle of the most retarded restauranters” file to blog about.

-Upstairs for providing a place where stars like Diddy and DiCaprio can act “Just like Us” in a secret setting, bar fights and all.

-Passerby, well at least for a couple more months.

-Marc Jacobs, for proving that even fabulous gay designers have midlife crises.

-Wass Stevens, for giving countless doormen around the world somthing to look up to.

-Gossip Girl, for providing us with the best network TV in decades and keeping us off the streets on Wednesday nights.

-And finally, for all our readers and faithful commenters, for our blog buddies and our email tippers, for our myspace and facebook friends…….Thank you and Happy Turkey Day!

richie

…So claims Richie Akiva, owner of Butter with partner Scott Sartiano, to NY Mag.  1OAK is set to open on October 19th at 453 West 17th street and Richie isn’t talking…at least about the new club which he “really wants to be a surprise”.  One thing he is talking about is his diet, though even that comes off sounding too cool for us.  Here are some of our takes from the interview:

-Richie starves himself for the Jewish holidays, and has since he was a baby.  This includes not even allowing himself water or a face wash for 24 hours.

-His favorite cereals are Apple Jacks and Frosted Mini Wheats.

-He eats at either Butter, Bar Pitti, Da Silvano, or Cipriani for lunch everyday.

-Sundays are his “wifey days”…“Sunday I don’t do anything except hang out with my girlfriend at the time, whoever that may be. I call that day ‘wifey day.’” Um…cute?

-Number of times he “name dropped” during his interview about his “DIET”=

1.) Wednesday, September 19th: “I didn’t eat dinner. I had a big party for Puffy’s fragrance launch at a townhouse — basically a mansion — on 67th Street and Madison.” (One)

2.) Tuesday, September 18th: “I had dinner at the Waverly Inn with my partner Scott Sartiano…. I’m always with interesting people. The other day I was with Scott and his girlfriend, Jamie Lynn-Sigler. Then I was with Puff one night at dinner at the Gramercy.” (Two, Three, Four-for mentioning the Wavery Inn and the Gramercy in the same day)

3.) Monday, September 17th: “I had dinner at Butter with Diana Ross’s son Evan Ross, and a bunch of my friends and a couple of big model girls…Monday nights are rocking stronger than ever. We had Terrence Howard, Kimora Lee, Russell Simmons, and a whole bunch of race-car drivers like Jeff Gordon and Edie Irvine and Jimmy Johnson. Cuba Gooding Jr. was there. They come up to my table and say hi.” (8 count them, 8 name drops, plus one for the models, brings total to 13).

4.) Saturday, September 15: “…then I went to Nobu…That’s like a family place for me.  One of my best friends is Robert De Niro’s son, so I’ve been going there since the day it opened. They take care of me very well there.

Total Name Drops: 14 (This has to be a record for “The New York Diet” piece the magazine runs).

For the full interview on Richie’s hip eating habits go here.

We’re pretty sure it’s going to take a lot more than one new club opening to “change new york’s nightlife”, but we are hoping that Richie surprises us all and proves our doubts wrong.
