Last Thursday at Cipriani 42nd St., a few of the (predominantly blonde) ladies who lunch turned out in their finest day wear for a special fashion show and luncheon to benefit women’s health at New York-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical Center. The event, generously sponsored by Swiss fashion house Akris, More»

Two weeks ago, on hearing the devastating news that contributor Scott Buccheit had broken up with Naeem Delbridge (The Eldridge’s doorman), we started to see a somewhat silver lining in the whole mess.  Scott has assured me that his new mainstay will be his old mainstay; Cipriani’s!

Oh how much we love Cipriani’s. Sure, they’ve had their share of troubles in the past, but with the unveiling of their latest weapon (18 year old son of Giuseppe Cipriani), Maggio Cipriani, we are ready for Cipriani’s to take back the limelight, at least for the Soho-set.

NBR, or rather, the National Board of Review (of Motion Pictures) held their annual awards gala last night. It marked their 100th year as the NBR was started in 1909. To make sure it would be an extra special night, the gala was held at Cipriani on 42nd Street. Italian jewelry line, Bulgari, helped out with the event as it has done in the past. A few of the notable guests included Clint Eastwood, Diane Lane, Josh Brolin, Anne Hathaway, Nicola Bulgari, Phillip Seymour Hoffman and many (many) more.

Though the opening night of Casa La Femme - an old UES favorite that has recently reopened it’s doors in its West Village outpost, as the Egyptian restaurant and lounge with belly dancing and a hip ambiance of tented tables - was something Jason and I were excited to experience on Friday, we ended up with a fairly disappointing dinner…

[Fortunoff's Thanksgiving Turkey, 5th avenue store window]

This Thanksgiving, we here at gofg would like to take this time to go over some of the things we are most thankful for this year. So here goes:

Guest of a Guest’s Most Thankful List:

-Armin Amiri for “Just seeing Cuba” and likewise needing us to experience his vision, thus creating Socialista.

-”Cocaine Highs” at The Box, for giving us a reason to dance with midget whores.

-Guidos and Guidettes for the massive quantity of material they provide us with each week.

-Rob Rich and his team for the extensive amount of coverage they provided us with this summer out east.

-Izzy Gold, LOLA, Unruly Heir, Tibi, Heatherette, and Abigail Lorrick, for keeping us in style.

-Polo matches, horse races and crew regattas for hours of WASP-sightings.

-Olivia, Tinsley, and Lydia for continuing to teach us the ways of becoming a socialite.

-Urban Rebounding classes for giving us yuppie buns of steel.

-Kenny Kenny , Richie Rich and the Club Kids…do we really need a reason?

-Mark and Eugene, Richie and Scott, Jason and Noah, Amy, and Danny A for continuing to take care of our need to party, and Nikola for the detailed documentation.

-The Martignetti brothers for giving us a chance to wear our hampton gear well into the fall and winter, and for giving all of our tall, popped-collared prepster friends a place to mingle with thier blonde future wives.

-Nello and the Cipriani’s , for giving us tales from the “battle of the most retarded restauranters” file to blog about.

-Upstairs for providing a place where stars like Diddy and DiCaprio can act “Just like Us” in a secret setting, bar fights and all.

-Passerby, well at least for a couple more months.

-Marc Jacobs, for proving that even fabulous gay designers have midlife crises.

-Wass Stevens, for giving countless doormen around the world somthing to look up to.

-Gossip Girl, for providing us with the best network TV in decades and keeping us off the streets on Wednesday nights.

-And finally, for all our readers and faithful commenters, for our blog buddies and our email tippers, for our myspace and facebook friends…….Thank you and Happy Turkey Day!

Tinsley Mortimer and Margherita Missoni at last year’s party at Bungalow 8:halloween

New York is the best city to celebrate All Hallow’s Eve.  Whether you hit up the West Village Parade, join Richie and the 1Oak crew at Scores, hit up the $200 Cipriani’s party, or get the coveted invite to Sacco’s…Have a great one, but be safe and remember to check for razors in those candy bars!

Also, go HERE to check out the Daily New’s list of Haunted New York Bars.

Tinsley Mortimer is off her rocker. Don’t believe us? Today Jezebel reported that the socialite is BLOGGING!!!!!!!!!! This just makes us feel so much more validated about our jobs here at gofg.

Shown here again with Minnie and Dabney Mortimer at last night’s Van Cleef and Arpels party at the Hamerstein Ballroom, and then Glamour magazine’s Fashion Gives Back party wearing a dress from her new clothing line Riccimie:

In her first blog entry for Glamour, Tinsley admits that the dress she is wearing is a repeat appearance from this last weekend spent in Japan where she is launching her new clothing line and which has already sold out there. Typical. Blond girl goes to Japan and gets attention. Yawn. Anyway this is perfect cause for us to do some recycling as well. SO in honor of Tinsley’s Blogging debut, we will once again post the picture the famous Mortimer at Cipriani’s downtown from last spring. Enjoy.

Harry Cipriani may be in fact losing his liquor license, but there is a silver lining to this story. Apparently his “lick her” license is not in jeapordy. In fact, Cipriani has a complete monopoly on this permit for Sunday nights in the city. Whether instances of licking will be blunted by a loss of his liquor license remains to be seen…but we’re sure Lapo Elkann will still be a regular.
