Last Night, The Cinema Society and Calvin Klein Collection hosted a screening of "The Hunger Games" at The Top of the Standard. The stars of the movie, Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Stanley Tucci, Isabelle Fuhrman, as well as director Gary Ross, producers Nina Jacobson and Jon Kilik, executive producer Robin Bissell and co-producer Bryan Unkeless attended the screening. Last night was the American premiere of Scott Hicks' excellent new movie, The Boys Are Back, starring Clive Owen, followed by a dinner by chef Emeril Lagasse. If you liked Clive Owen as a murderous butler or corporate spy, wait til you see him as an adorable widow struggling to raise two sons. You'll probably cry, like, at least four times, and curse the fact that Owen has been happily married for nearly 15 years. And after last night's dinner, we were cursing the fact that Emeril Lagasse is married, too. Yeah: it was that good. More»

Last Saturday, Nur Khan hosted a live acoustic set at Rose Bar with Evan Dando and Gibby Haynes.  Sure there were rockstars, models, and Clive Owen present, but the real star of the night was Zelda Kaplan.  Rose Bar is one of our favorite places in this town, they have managed to maintain a sophisticated vibe and solid crowd even in these difficult times.  And the live acoustic sets that Nur has been introducing are just icing on the cake....
