In typical Goldenvoice fashion, with less than 61 hours until the festival grounds open for Coachella 2012, they threw us a bone and posted the show set times for each of the three days of Weekend 1, indicating who will be playing which stages when. As with every year before set times are released, I've been getting a daily dose of anxiety over potential conflicting shows of the artists I most want to see. God forbid I'd have to choose between Pulp and M83... I mean, no question Pulp would win but I've been listening to Hurry Up, We're Dreaming a lot recently in anticipation of that show so missing it would be très lame and sad. Some good news for those of you unable to partake in either of the two back-to-back Coachella weekends next month. As of Monday, the festival's producer Goldenvoice unveiled a fully-loaded schedule of shows in the L.A. area in the days surrounding the desert music festival. They've deemed the two-week live music extravaganza "Goldenvoice Presents April 2012." Whether you're getting in on Coachella action next month or have opted out this year, if you're into this year's lineup at all, you're probably going to want to take a look at the artists they've scheduled to perform in these supplemental shows since most of them are playing the festival this year. In a sense, the third and final day of Coachella is the trickiest for both the schedulers and the festival-goers themselves. With two straight days of desert heat, nonstop music, killer parties, and whatever, um, extracurricular activities you may be getting into under the belt, it may feel like a challenge to maintain a third full of day of music.
