Yesterday, following news of Lou Reed's cancellation on Coachella Friday sets (April 12th and 19th), we reported on the highly likely possibility of Daft Punk playing the festival when a tour date for April 12th at the Empire Polo Field in Indio suddenly appeared on their VEVO page. However, last night a rep for the French electro duo issued a gold medal-worthy buzzkill to Rolling Stone flatly denying Daft Punk will perform at Coachella this year. Ouch... [photo via] More»
Huge things have happened in the last 24 hours regarding the Coachella 2013 lineup. As one of the artists we were most excited to see play this year, we're extremely bummed to report that Lou Reed has canceled his Coachella 2013 sets, name removed from the official bill's sub-headliners for Friday's (April 12th and 19th) lineup with no replacement as of now; but we have some thoughts on that, in addition to a seriously MAJOR hint dropped yesterday that a certain helmet-wearing French duo will be making a Coachella appearance on the same day. Good news for all of you who didn't score tickets to either of the two back-to-back Coachella Weekends. As of Monday, festival producer Goldenvoice unveiled a jam-packed schedule of shows in the L.A. area and even stretching as far as San Diego, Ventura and Pioneertown featuring many of the Coachella 2013 artists in the days surrounding the desert music festival. Dubbed "Goldenvoice Presents April 2013," the two-week music program gives those opting out of Coachella the chance to see a good number of festival performers in more intimate venues before, in between, and after Coachella Weekends 1 and 2. Let's break down who you'll be able to catch at these local shows if you're not making the voyage to the desert next month or just want a second helping of some of this year's performers.

%@$#ING FINALLY! Here it is, everyone. Behold, the official Coachella 2013 lineup just released by Goldenvoice on the Coachella website. And The Rolling Stones NO esta! Also, what in the world are the Stone Roses doing in that Friday headliner slot? How confused is everyone by this? Because my friend just asked me if "Stoned Rose" is a band. More>>

As we make our way through the final stretch of January, we're left questioning what is taking so long as anticipation of the bill, traditionally released mid-month, for this year's still lineup-less Coachella 2013 intensifies with each passing day. But there's plenty of noise to fill the void, as a steady flow of worthless non-information courtesy of message board wackos who have the time and Photoshop know-how to fabricate fake LA Times articles, as well as those masters of withholding at Goldenvoice. Following that mystifying photo of a lone rock in the Empire Polo Field, yesterday Coachella both tickled and infuriated with another uninformative tease in the form of video titled "Bloom," a trippy time-lapse clip of the festival sprouting up from polo grounds, posted to its official Facebook page: More»

Rampant speculation on the Coachella 2013 lineup continues following last week's major hint droppage that The Rolling Stones would be a headliner this year. With the official festival lineup traditionally released right around this time of the month in January, the anticipation is mounting and today we get another tease thanks to MTV which took the liberty of leaking a 2013 lineup flyer. Albeit, a totally fake one someone who learned how to use Photoshop over there made with a pretty hilarious list of "performers" that might make you snort... More»
Almost entirely unsubstantiated rumors of The Rolling Stones playing Coachella have swirled around year after year in the months leading up to the release of the festival's official lineup. But with their recent 50th anniversary reunion shows and new greatest hits album, unconfirmed talk of a Coachella 2013 appearance has dialed up even higher on the blogosphere. Oh, and then there was that accidental tour date titled "Coachella 2013" for April posted on the band's mobile app last month that was swiftly deleted. Then, Coachella posted the above photo of a rock (or STONE!!!) in the middle of the festival grounds on their Facebook page with the message "Happy New Years [sic]! We're excited, hope you are too!"
