If you're an avid reader then I'm sure you didn't miss out on East Hampton's 7th annual Authors Night. But in case you did, here's a recap. Co-chairs Alec Baldwin and Barbara Goldsmith hosted the event with honorary co-chairs Robert A. Caro, Dick Cavett, Nelson DeMille and Michael Connelly. More than 160 authors showed their stuff raising approximately $200,000 for the East Hampton Library.

Well-known authors Georgina Bloomberg, Jennet Conant, Kathy Freston, Victoria Hagan, Shere Hite, Duane Hampton, Katie Lee, Robert Lipsyte, Susan Lucci, Jeffrey Lyons, Adam Ross, Andrew Ross Sorkin, Beth Ostrosky Stern and Colson Whitehead set up shop under the library ground's white tents. Guests munched on hors d'oeuvres and wine while mingling with the authors and buying their "personally inscribed" books. More»

Last night at a private residence in Manhattan, author Laurie Sandell was surrounded by friends who came out for her book party.  The fabulous Miss Ann Dexter Jones, Zoe, Carole Radziwill, Karyn Geringer, Susan Orlean, Ariel Foxman, Nathan Englander, Colson Whitehead, Ariel Foxman, Albert McEvoy, Kristin Van Ogtrop and Sheila Weller were amongst the party guests. Publisher's Weekly called the book a "...delightfully composed graphic novel, (where) journalist Sandell (Glamour) illustrates a touchingly youthful story about a daughter's gushing love for her father.
