Spending Saturday night in Times Square is a good first step toward experiencing some over-the-top NYC. Amidst lots of bright lights and big city noise, plus the requisite slew of tourists and people from New Jersey, Tinsley Mortimer, her sister Dabney Mercer and Constantine Maroulis partied til the early hours of the morning at Touch while launching Akvinta vodka, this weekend.

Photos by Getty] Wednesday night, an interesting mix of reality tv personalities, scenesters, and, perhaps most oddly, Broadway actors gathered together at club stamping ground Avenue for the launch of Swatch’s new CreArt line, designed by Billy The Artist. Nick Cannon was there, briefly. America’s Next Top Model’s CariDee English and Jaslene Gonzalez attended. So did Adrienne Bailon of, uhm, The Cheetah Girls. After its’ successful off-broadway run, Rock of Ages officially rocked Broadway Tuesday night as it opened to an all-star audience at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre followed by an after party at The Edison Hotel. Theatre-goers including  Jane Krakowski, Ugly Betty’s Michael Urie, Dee Snyder, Semi Precious Weapons front man  Justin Tranter, Katrina Bowden, Rocco Dispirito, and Hairspray star Nikki Blonsky attended the rock n’ roll love story.

Last Thursday, John Varvatos hosted Greek America Magazine and the Greek America Foundation at his newly renovated Soho store (which re-opened earlier this month), to launch the countdown to the 2009 Gabby Awards, which honor “Greek America’s Best and Brightest Stars,” taking place on June 19th in Chicago.

Last night, the “Not Fade Away Gallery” presented “The British are Coming!,” a world premiere exhibition of previously unpublished, extraordinary photographs of The Beatles and The Rolling Stones at work and at play, as photographed by Bob Bonis, their first U.S. tour manager.  Located at 901 Broadway in Union Square, the gallery will be open from March 4-April 14.  Several guests like Rockstar royalty Alexandra Richards and sister Theodore Richards paid the gallery a visit on opening night last night along with singer Constantine Maroulis, photographer Bob Gruen, singer Lauren Ianuzzi and others.
