We're not going to front like we weren't among the worst offenders when the internet collectively peed in its cyber panties today over Daft Punk's leaked Random Access Memories album ahead of its May 21st release. A live stream of the entire album has since been made available for listening on iTunes and we've been playing it on a loop for the last few hours. Whether or not it's your cup of tea, at the very least it's worth a listen just for cultural context and the sake of staying informed. Lots of feelings we're still working out about the album as as a whole which is filled with disco vibes and baby-making music, but Track 12 ("Doin' It Right") is definitely a new favorite. Given today's Daft Punk developments, the timing couldn't be better to share these recent photos of the helmeted Frenchman posing at James Goldstein's famous John Lautner-designed home in Beverly Hills. Decked in custom Hedi Slimane for Saint Laurent tuxes, of course...

When the Human Rights Campaign asked the public to help paint the town red to show support for marriage equality by changing their social media profile photos to the campaign's red equal sign, they probably didn't anticipate the myriad of interpretations it would inspire. Yesterday, following news of Lou Reed's cancellation on Coachella Friday sets (April 12th and 19th), we reported on the highly likely possibility of Daft Punk playing the festival when a tour date for April 12th at the Empire Polo Field in Indio suddenly appeared on their VEVO page. However, last night a rep for the French electro duo issued a gold medal-worthy buzzkill to Rolling Stone flatly denying Daft Punk will perform at Coachella this year. Ouch... [photo via] More»
Huge things have happened in the last 24 hours regarding the Coachella 2013 lineup. As one of the artists we were most excited to see play this year, we're extremely bummed to report that Lou Reed has canceled his Coachella 2013 sets, name removed from the official bill's sub-headliners for Friday's (April 12th and 19th) lineup with no replacement as of now; but we have some thoughts on that, in addition to a seriously MAJOR hint dropped yesterday that a certain helmet-wearing French duo will be making a Coachella appearance on the same day. On Wednesday night in LA, Maroon 5 held their 8th Annual Halloween Party at Hollywood Forever Cemetery. Hundreds of people came out for the event, which was Carnival themed. Robert Pattinson, Aaron Paul, Katy Perry and Aziz Ansari were just a few of the celebrity guests who hit the graveyard throwdown DJ'ed by Chris Holmes and Thom York as Daft Punk. Check out the party!
