“The Best Guests Come Bearing Gifts”…The 45 Nano Case

The 45 Nano Case. A lot of us have been cutting back. Since the deepest dives into the wallet are for clothes, that means less shopping. This has been a heartbreaking and dramatic life adjustment. Fortuntately, we’ve found a nice little loop hole: buying “outfits” for your iPod totally doesn’t count, and you can pick something out that will also compliment your own look, like this nano case. Daily Style Phile: John Carney Does Skull And Crossbones

John Carney, Stephanie WeiSo we already knew that John Carney was cool.  We just didn’t know HOW cool until last night when we saw him rocking out his skull and crossbones tie at the Ignite NYC III event. Stephanie was loving it as you can see.  The guy responsible for DealBreaker.com, and now ClusterStock was looking GOOOOOD.

Daily Style Phile: NYU’s Blogging Hero

Charlie EisenhoodCharlie Eisenhood, part time DJ and sophomore NYU student, has brought student reporting to a whole new level. While the tension intensified between TBNYU students (stands for Take Back NYU), the police, and the students who disagreed with the protest last night, Charlie was inside NYU’s Kimmel Center barricaded in with the protesters updating the events from his laptop with the help of NYULocal.com and Twitter. Charlie risked getting arrested

Daily Style Phile: Save J.T. White From His Adoring Women!

[J.T. with Kashmir Snowdon-Jones, and Anon]

J.T. White is one of our most-loved nightlife photographers here at GofG, and he has caught a nasty case of the party bug flu!  The guy goes out more in one week than most of us do all month.  He has quickly learned the names of who’s who in Manhattan’s social set and he is always on the look out for the next event to cover. So, what’s the problem?

Well, J.T. is doing his job TOO well! Each day I’m curious to see where he went the night before, and which socialite took him in as arm candy (the one on the left is Kashmir Snowdon-Jones, one of his many new found friends). His recent Facebook Status update reads:

“J.T. White is rethinking this whole ’school’ thing…hmmm”

NO J.T. NO!  School is Cool! STAY IN SCHOOL! More »

Daily Style Phile: When NYC Socials Fall In Love With Russian Fur Hats

[Paul Johnson-Calderon and Kristian Laliberte both donning their favorite fur hats]

The frigid temperatures are hardly shocking to us by now, and yet, some of our favorite social’s choice head gear has been.  It’s more than a fur hat, it’s a statement, and one that not everybody can pull off.  So, from Paul Johnson-Calderon, to Kristian Laliberte, Jules Kirby, Ben Fink Shapiro, Sean Patrick Murray, and EVERYONE in between, who looks the best underneath the fur?

Click below to view the hats in question before leaving your vote in the comments!

Daily Style Phile: The West Village Bugle Lady

Today’s Daily Style Phile comes from our friend Ari over at Advanced Style. We love the eccentric woman he ran into while walking in the West Village:

“I noticed this lady playing the bugle outside a coffee shop in the West Village. I started to talk to her and found out that she is 73 years old and has been playing bugle since she was a girl scout. She plays in various spots throughout the Village including outside her favorite coffee shop.”

Awesome.  More photos below:

Daily Style Phile: Holiday Edition

Ari Cohen has an eye for style.  Advanced Style that is.  And he has been capturing the Holiday Spirit in the older men and women of Manhattan for many weeks.  These two were decked out in their regal furs outside of the Cartier Store on 5th Avenue when he stopped them for a photos op.

You can see more of my favorite Advanced Style shots below:

Daily Style Phile: Zelda Kaplan’s Winter Style

Zelda Kaplan is looking more stylish than ever this season.  Spotted by photographer Olivia Horner in this winter red and black ensemble (complete with top hat of course), we are digging her look as always.

Daily Style Phile: Puppet Maker At Milk

Last night at the Norman Jean Roy event at Milk Galleries, Ari Cohen spotted this fabulous woman. She makes marionettes for a living. Notice her bling “change change change” for Obama. Love. Photo with her and her friend below:

Daily Style Phile: Presidential Fashion, The Obamas Versus The McCains

Barack Obama, Michelle ObamaJohn McCain, Cindy McCain
[Who has better style? The Obamas or the McCains?]

Political views aside, I want to know who you think makes the more fashionable candidate.  Sure, its easier when you”re tall dark and handsome (and younger!), but I think the McCain”s make a pretty classy pair too (see first shot of them below.  Plus, they weren”t always this old (again, look to photo below).

Then again, they are lacking those two lovable girls, Malia and Natasha that I want running through the White House Walls.  Anyway, who makes the more fashionable pair???

Click below for more photos, and go HERE to find out where you can go watch the debates in NYC tonight.
