Yesterday, I remembered how great it was to be a kid again.  I twirled, and whirled around Astropark, overlooked the dirty vendor man that served me my hotdog, fries, and extra-buttered corn on the cob, and finished off the day with an Ice Cream Cone on the boardwalk.  While in Coney Island, I saw a considerable amount of fashionistas that were doing their part to help commemorate Astroland park….

On discussing the upcoming fall fashion week last night I overheard:

“Marc Jacobs and Zac Posen are the only shows to be concerned about.”

Despite whether you agree or disagree with this statement, there’s no denying that Zac Posen has made waves through the fashion world in the past years. You know you’ve made it to the tops when you have one of the fashionable Olsen’s interning for you.  Zac is as suave as he is sleek.  He never looks undone and has made some of our city’s most fashionable socialite’s dazzle.

I had been hearing about Talia Eisenberg for a couple of years.  New York may seem like the “Big City”, but it’s really just a small town full of even smaller circles.  I can’t count how many times when, after hearing I lived in Omaha, NE, people would say “Oh so you know Talia?”.  You can imagine how thrilled I was when I actually met her (on an elevator going up to the Soho Grand Penthouse for a party).  We talked Buffett, and Dodge, Runza, and Peoney Park…and ever since then, we have been keeping an eye on each other.

I would call Alexa Greenstadt a hip “hipster” if the word didn’t have such negative connotations these days.  Also, that word would be to limiting in describing Alexa, the Beatrice Babe that doesn’t play by any rules, in fashion or otherwise.  Bohemian, cool, chic, hip, indie, posh, rebel, hipster, fresh are all words that one could use in describing Alexa, though my favorite would have to be FREE.

When you are as free as Alexa, you can be whatever you want to be, and look good while doing it:

Did you know that only 1-2% of the world’s population has red hair!? Or that in 100 years redheaded people will be extinct?! [GofG]  That only increases the already-valuable price tag on Nell Rebowe. Nell is, obviously, one of the most beautiful NY social models on the scene these days.  But what’s really interesting about her is that she’s wicked smart and fun to boot.  Majoring in neuroscience at Tulane, Nell dispels those old adages that models are dimwits.  Now that’s some NY style that’s worth celebrating!

We thought this woman was part of the act at Robert Wilson’s annual Watermill Center Gala. Come to find out, this is just her, doing her thing, smoking her pipe in the woods with an air of eccentricity and an outfit that matches her undoubtedly spunky personality.  I think this is one of the sexiest women I have seen!

Tamie Peters Thomas, Luigi Tadini, Justin Belemont and Marissa Bregnan

These four look like they came straight out of some fabulous style ad.  Seriously, I can’t believe I know them in real life.  I’m obsessed with Tamie’s bright green dress, Luigi in all white (which he managed to make work off the polo fields, later on at the Watermill party) and I would die for Marissa’s glasses (WHERE did you get these!?), and the detailing on Justine’s shirt.  They all got the whole “polo outfits” down to a tee. This photo no doubt caught dozens of photographers’ attentions.

These kids sure got something right.  At the Hamptons Undercover launch party at the Social Life estate in Watermill, this foursome was head to toe perfection.  In their crisp summer whites and summer footwear, we could all learn a thing about how to pull off the “Hampton Chic” look.
