  • Deadmau5 fully calls out Madonna saying,

"thats [sic] your big message to ultra attendies [sic]? hipsterspeak for looking for drugs? fuck off you fucking IDIOT,"

after she turns to drugs in a very desperate attempt to be hip and relevant by asking the audience if they've seen molly when introducing Avicii on stage at Ultra yesterday. [HuffPo]

I don't think I was alone in thinking last night's Grammys would be turned into a 3 hour tribute to the late and great Whitney Houston-but alas, we were wrong.  It did, however, have Taylor Swift auditioning for the Oklahoma production of West Side Story, Chris Brown, the still-brilliant voice of Adele, a creepily silent Lady Gaga (yes, she was there), Bonnie Bear, more Chris Brown, the French 808 known as David Guetta, and the artist formerly known as Nicki Minaj.  Oh, and it was hosted by L.L. Cool J.  Here's a recap of the bizarre acid-trip brought to you by CBS. More»

Given the darkness and violence of the subject material, it's understandable that The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo wasn't going to be marketed on Burger King cups or NFL pregame shows. So when the suits at MGM told Trent Reznor, who composed the soundtrack, to come up with a creative way to market the movie, he had only one criteria: it had to be "something other than some bullshit party at the Chateau Marmont with a bunch of bullshit people." I think teaming up with HARD to bring Deadmau5 and James Murphy to the Palladium, for free, qualifies. More»

Right off the bat, let me say that I love video games. Not as much as my brother, maybe, who has been known to tell everyone he's going to bed, only to be discovered in his room at 6 a.m., bleary-eyed and surrounded by empty Dr. Pepper cans, death-gripping an Xbox controller. But I used to work in the video game industry, and therefore I have a high level of appreciation for both good games and the extremely creative and technically skilled individuals who make them. Being a DJ must be completely exhausting. I don't necessarily mean that in the Deadmau5, "pounding a bottle of absinthe before I go on stage," celebrity definition of exhaustion, although that certainly happens. It's just that all the crazy lights, anime robots, thumping dubstep beats, and raving teenagers must really wear you down. I can't even watch an hour of Transformers 3 without wanting to take a nap. And if you're Skrillex, the "boy king of electronic dance music," and you basically play a new show every night? I'm worn out just thinking about it. More»
