Given the darkness and violence of the subject material, it's understandable that The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo wasn't going to be marketed on Burger King cups or NFL pregame shows. So when the suits at MGM told Trent Reznor, who composed the soundtrack, to come up with a creative way to market the movie, he had only one criteria: it had to be "something other than some bullshit party at the Chateau Marmont with a bunch of bullshit people." Being a DJ must be completely exhausting. I don't necessarily mean that in the Deadmau5, "pounding a bottle of absinthe before I go on stage," celebrity definition of exhaustion, although that certainly happens. It's just that all the crazy lights, anime robots, thumping dubstep beats, and raving teenagers must really wear you down. I can't even watch an hour of Transformers 3 without wanting to take a nap. And if you're Skrillex, the "boy king of electronic dance music," and you basically play a new show every night?
