This past Paris Fashion Week, we all mourned the end of Marc Jacobs' 16-year-reign at Louis Vuitton after his bittersweet but beautiful send-off show which left us in shivers. Though his role as creative director for the French brand was an iconic one, the fashion world wasted no time before whispering about his imminent successor. This week, as plenty had predicted, LV confirmed Nicolas Ghesquière as the label's latest leader, a role which he should have no trouble with, seeing as his last stint was a 15-year residency at the helm of yet another major fashion house. Indeed, this game of designer musical chairs is a staple in the biz, and artistic switch ups are arguably what keep the runways exciting season after season. In recent years, the couture web of names, brands, and faces has grown ever more intricate, so click through to keep up with the creative directors you need to know. More»

As the Resort 2014 collections debuted over the past couple of weeks, we at Guest of a Guest were taking notes from our favorite designers to see what trends we had to look forward to. And here are a few things we learned from the in-between, transitional season that is Resort 2014: the jumpsuit is here to stay, mixing prints is as chic as ever, we can continue to stay comfy with pajama dressing, it's all about the exaggerated silhouettes, the graphic trend is still a favorite, and midriffs everywhere will continue to be bared. From perfect short suits, to must-have, wide leg pants, to the perfect party dress, click through for the Resort 2014 looks we're dying to add to our wardrobes. More»
This year marks the first-ever Art Basel Hong Kong. The legendary art fair, already an all-out annual event in both Basel and Miami, made its Asian debut on May 23 and will continue until May 26. While it certainly is an international showcase, featuring works from across Europe and the United States, half of the participating galleries are solely based in Asia and Asia-Pacific, making Art Basel Hong Kong a major cultural outpost for regions that have been previously neglected in the art market. Now that HK is hosting the glitz and glamour of Basel, join us in checking out all of the pieces, people, and parties that went on during Art Basel Hong Kong.
This week in DC, Washington bigwigs attended the Citizen Hearst screening at the Newseum, the Capital Club hosted their Shamrock Soiree, ABC's Britt McHenry emceed a fashion show in Alexandria, Gant debuted their Spring/Summer line in Georgetown and more:

Gala season is upon us, and while our eyes will be on ladies in towering heels and glamorous gowns, their eyes will be on the most suave guys in the room. In order to stay on top of your game, you'll need that perfect suit: slim but not tight, pants that just graze the top of your shoes, no more than an inch of cuff showing. Finding that suit can be tricky, but we've made it easier by rounding up the best places to get finely tailored garments in NYC. Look through our slideshow to see where you can get the only suit and shirt you'll ever need. More»

When it comes to award show season, we spend hour after hour checking the red carpet to find the best dressed actresses of the night. We forget that some of their best ensembles might have been the on-screen looks of their award-winning movies. One of the most overlooked Oscar categories is for costume design, so we thought we'd take a look at some of our best dressed choices off of the red carpet.
