We've never made a secret of our abiding love for charity galas and parties for a cause, but even we can admit that some causes are more worthy than others. Sure, that foundation for cross-eyed Golden Retrievers in Santa Monica is making a positive difference or whatever, but there's really no comparison to a organization that helps real human beings in distress, right here in Los Angeles.
