There are very few people in the society circles of New York that havn’t heard of Douglas Friedman. A man with such an original style deserves to be celebrated, which is exactly what I plan on doing. I met Douglas, the well known photographer this summer at the Tahari event “God’s Love We Deliver” in the Hamptons, and was giddy over the outfit he pulled out at Allison Sarofim’s “Evening of Anime” last Saturday. Hosting a Japanese themed party? Douglas will show up dressed as a California roll! What a guy!

I’m deeming Douglas Friedman’s “California Roll” costume (first photo above), my favorite yet. Talk about getting into a theme…all of the guests at Allison Sarofim’s “Evening of Anime” party last Saturday were dressed the part. From the Hello Kitty pouf seat by Carlos Mota, to the homeade detailed costume of the hostess, to the decorations which were meant to be “the love child of Takashi Murakami and Jeff Koons”, no detail was left out. Thankfully, Derek Blasberg was there to give us the Scoop. [Style.com]
