Page Six recently put together their picks for the top 50 Hottest New York City Bachelors, and while we agreed with some of their choices, there were those who were in fact, not bachelors, and others who left us scratching our heads (also there wasn’t a single gay man on the list!) We thought of a few they left out who would make excellent dates this Valentine’s Day and who belong on the list of Top Hottest Bachelors In New York City.
Paul Johnson-Calderon
This social scenester aka “The King of Bow Ties” gets our list started for his classic style that has yet to falter andbecause who wouldn’t want to replace Jules Kirby as this fashion stud’s arm candy?
For our next bachelor, only the youthful dames need apply. Our favorite king of the nightlife and master of charm, Steve Lewis, likes them young because in case you didn’t know, “you can buy them a gift for 300 bucks, and they think you’re P. Diddy”.
[Joe Biden, Julia Allison, and President Barack Obama]
Is there an event or party that these New Yorkers can’t get into? Apparently not, since while we were watching Tuesday’s festivities on our television they ditched NYC’s Inaugural soirees to hang out with the country’s favorite V.I.P. Julia Allison kicked it with Malia and Sasha, Kristian Laliberte and Devorah Rose had front row seats for the big speech, while Emily Brill and our best friend DBTHleft Park City in time to join the millions in D.C. Even our very own Stanley Stuyvesant wagged his tail all the way to Washington to give a big woof to our new Pres.
DBTH is becoming more “Brill-ish” by the minute. Emily Brill-ish that is. He”s like the downtown equivalent of the UES blogger except she is less whiny than him…essentially. (And isn”t it saying a lot when you”re more whiny than an UES trust fund 20 something blond?) Well they have a lot more in common than not getting into the Eldridge. Both have quite the loyal followers that love creating drama in the comment section, and, today we LOVED what we were reading on DBTH”s.
In regards to the post “Bungalow 2.0” in which Scott once again reused OUR photo (without credit), DBTH tries to devalue Bungalow 8 because of an invite he came across for a party at the lounge on Facebook (it was a closed invite). What we learn from his “faithful” commenters is that, not only is this a NON issue, but Sundays really are the new Saturdays (as we told you), and, more importantly, that they are sick of hearing about the “non cool” areas from Scott (um…finally?!). Also, they resoundingly agree on their love of Bungee. Anyway, click below to read some of my favorites: More »
Ok, well now you do because I pointed it out. That being said, DBTH has been AWOL, and the web is now starved of his sometimes funny, sometimes wrong, many times misinformed, and generally misguided nightlife ramblings. And Scott Solish’s vague and ambiguous explanation doesn’t do much to clarify his absence.
We are experiencing some technical difficulties, hence the reduced postings this week. We believe a Little Birdy has flown directly into the wires, and have sent over a crack team of union labor to fix the problem.
Ok, whatever that means Scott. Anyway, we hope everything over there works out for you and you come back online soon, if only to humor ourselves.
I have a friend with a needlepoint belt. He takes his belt very, very seriously. If I remember correctly, it was a present from his sister, and each logo he’s had stitched on it has commemorated a life event worth remembering. There’s space for a couple more to add to. There are ones for the sports he’s played, schools he’s conquered, and hobbies he’s acquired. It is obnoxiously preppy, and definitely silly. It is the cutest thing I have ever seen. And, though I will, for years to come, facetiously ask how his belt has been doing (like one may ask about a family pet), I will secretly wish that I had one of my own….
I found THIS blogger who writes more about the needle point belt by way of A Continuous Lean by way of DBTH (*GASP!). I am developing a formal crush on the former too. Besides the needle point belt thing, they like Jazz in Newport, Dark and Stormy’s, and dressing in nice shoes and ties when they fly.…could one ask for more in a man? Scott has friends like this? Maybe I should start hanging out with him more….
The anatomy of a Hipster turned Hypocrite. First it was the backdating of posts that he got scooped on. Then it was the jabs in his blog. Then it was the photoshopped images. Then it was the expletive filled comments. Then it was the fake comments meant to insult.
For those of you who want to read a blog with no blogging honor, visit downbythehypocrite.com.
We hate calling him out twice in one day, but isn’t that what friends are for? DBTH just posted his 2nd post today and this time its about the demise of Rose Bar (one of my own personal favorites in the city). When Rose Bar is “over” we will all know it, there will be no speculations and it sure as hell won’t be coming from a random “tipster” who was there the Thursday before 4th of July weekend when everyone else was out of the city.
