Planning for the weeks ahead? Get dressed in your 007 best for charity at the Casino Royale Gala, spend your Saturday at an all-day barbeque, or check out the newly re-opened Marquee with some good ol' dubstep. Here are 10 upcoming parties to put on your radar.

In an ever-expanding EDM market with DJs constantly entering the scene, Markus Schulz rests comfortably at the top. The Germany-born, Miami-based DJ has been at the peak of his game, feeding fans with a popular weekly radio show called "Global DJ Broadcast" and finding talent through his labels Coldharbour Recordings and Schulz Music Group. We had a chance to sit down with Markus, who was recently named "America's Best DJ" by DJ Times Magazine, and find out how he climbed to the top of the charts this year. More»

Even though the summer is winding down and the temperatures in Southern California are plummeting back into the high 90s, the live music scene is doing anything but cooling off. The next week promises a dazzling array of concerts around Los Angeles from a wide spectrum of different artists like Animal Collective, Black Star, Dead Kennedys and Ladyhawke to name a few, with something for everyone (except people who don't like music. Weirdos). More»

The countdown is finally coming to an end this Labor Day weekend as NYC gets hit with another major electronic music festival, Electric Zoo. Present by Made Event, this is the 4th annual Electric Zoo, and good vibes will rumble throughout Randall's Island all weekend long. Headliners include David Guetta on Friday, Axwell on Saturday, Tiësto on Sunday, and much more. EDM lovers, get your rage face ready once again as GofG breaks down the top ten artists you should check out on the island! More»

We give mainstream dubstep a hard time on occasion in these pages, but the reality is, it's not because we don't appreciate the value of having your face mashed in by some insanely deep bass. In fact, if anything, our ambivalence to certain big name DJ's comes more from the knowledge that deep within this beautiful city of ours, there's a long-running night that brings bass the likes of which your typical Hollywood bottle-service crowd has never even dreamed up. Low End Theory, you complete us. More»

If your favorite raver seems to be running about a quart low on serotonin today, there's a perfectly good explanation: they were probably dancing it up all weekend in Las Vegas at EDC 2012. And while you may have heard the disappointing news that festival organizers Insomniac were forced to cut the show short on Saturday night due to a raging desert windstorm, don't feel too badly for the party rockers, because they picked up again with a vengeance on Sunday, closing out the festival with a solid exclamation point. We've sorted through thousands of photos to give you a chance to live, or re-live, the madness. More»

If you have tickets for Electric Daisy Carnival this weekend, you're probably already set. Your bags are packed. You've studied the set schedule. You've designed a homemade Deadmau5 head with a Pauly D blowout on top (and what a tragic shame that those two won't be on hand to see it). But before you start driving towards Vegas, do yourself a big favor and read up on our essential tips to surviving the weekend. Because just like everything else in Vegas, there's a right way and a wrong way to do EDC. Don't you want to do it the right way? More»

So who's going to Las Vegas this weekend to get down to some electronic dance music? Actually, let's rephrase that: if you want to get down to EDM this weekend, you'd better be going to Vegas, because every artist you've ever heard of (and many you'll be hearing about soon) are all playing the 16th annual Electric Daisy Carnival at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway, starting tomorrow. And when we say "everyone," that's really not much of an exaggeration. Check out the just-released full set schedule and start your stage-hopping plans now! More»

We've been more than candid about our feelings regarding dubstep. It's not that we have a general distaste for the entire genre, we just feel that as with pretty much everything else in life, there is a time and a place for dubstep and it sure as hell is not in a Britney Spears song. But a pre- Electric Daisy Carnival show put on by Insomniac and headlined by dub pioneer Rusko at the Hollywood Palladium? That's precisely a dubstep-appropriate scenario we are down for along with the thousands of filthy beat-loving kids at Friday night's show. More»

I can't speak for everyone, but many of my favorite super-special L.A. moments arrive via the unexpected drop-in. You know, when you're checking out The Improv on a  Wednesday and Patton Oswalt decides to do an impromptu stand-up set, or when Eric Clapton randomly takes the stage at the House Of Blues, stuff like that. So when Low End Theory, the weekly Wednesday-night High Mass for the bass/hip-hop/electronica crowd, started hinting at a big name special guest this week, we knew to take them seriously. More»
