Yesterday, Kate and Andy Spade hosted an opening reception for Martha Stewart Weddings editorial director Darcy Miller Nussbaum’s “Family” show. Last night, the flagship Saks Fifth Avenue store unveiled its new third floor, a home for 23 top designer shops. Vogue and Charlize Theron co-hosted the event, filling the 5,000 foot space with famous friends including Anna Wintour, Oscar de la Renta, Blake Lively, Francisco Costa, Cornelia Guest, Carolina Herrera, Vera Wang, Rachel Zoe, Georgina Chapman, Zac Posen, Penn Badgley, Doutzen Kroes, Christian Siriano, Alexis Bledel, Dylan Lauren, Fabiola Beracasa, Helen Schifter, Lauren Santo Domingo, Mark Badgley, James Mischka, Margherita Missoni and Olivia Chantecaille.

Thursday evening, Dylan’s Candy Bar hosted a cocktail party that featured a chocolate fountain and candy treats for all. New York socials were sent on major sugar highs after stopping by Dylan Lauren’s king-sized Candy store last night.  Dylan’s spent $6 million on the renovation of its flagship store on 60th and 3rd Avenue that doubled in size and reopened their doors with a smashing party.

So where exactly did all that money go?  Well, unfortunately you won’t find a Wonka river of chocolate or Oompa Loompas, but on the flip side you also won’t find the gluttonous Augustus Gloop.   But you will find the most magical candy store in the world with a radiant rainbow of colors, an ice-cream bar, a wall of nostalgic candy, party rooms, drawers and drawers of candy, candy flavored drinks, a Dylan’s inspired jewelry line, a candy-scented skin care line and that’s just the beggining.  Everything from the light-fixtures to the floor was thought out and executed with the utmost detail.  But to fully appreciate all the delectible items, you best see for yourself.

Dylan Lauren is not your typical heiress.  She has made an Wonka-like empire out of knowing candy the way her father (Ralph Lauren) knows polos.  And tonight, she will unveil her bigger & better King Size Dylan’s Candy Bar store on Third Avenue.  We are excited to see the million dollar(s) renovation that the flagship store underwent.  Dylan has been helping satisfy sweet tooths for years, and she’s been looking fabulous along the way.

Today’s Matchup is between headwear master Arden Wohl and Candy Creater Dylan Lauren. Wohl was recently arrested for defamating Lauren’s father’s store in East Hampton.  How do the two socialites stack up on Fame Game?  This ones a close matchup, though Arden seems to come up ahead with more news mentions, people connections, and rank.

Here are my top picks from PMC for today:

1. Tory Burch and Dylan Lauren: A Kageno Summer Night hosted by Danielle Levine in memory of her father.  The Bowery Hotel was the hot spot for this event and these two showed up in a photo merging my two destructive loves: Shoes and Candy. Good match yes?
2. Andy Smith, Patrick McMullan, Ann Dexter-Jones, and Brian Farrel: At the same Kageno event.  Ah the very creator of PMC with his socials.  It is a rare occasion that this happens (Patrick seems to be traveling a lot lately?), but when it does, it is cause for celebration.
3. Byrdie Bell: No new event to speak of.  Just wanted to profile her because she just signed with FORD! The same company that represents Amanda Hearst, I am expecting good things to come of this arrangement.
