Hoping to start the summer off in the safest way possible, 17 new patrol cars will be stationed throughout the Hamptons in order to crack down on drunk driving, reports Patch. The new initiative, called East End DWI Task Force, goes into effect tomorrow evening, and the cars will come from a number of different police agencies in the area, as well as from the NY state police department. The second cookbook from Ricky Lauren, author, photographer, artist, and wife of Ralph Lauren, will be released later this month, and it's chock full of the famous family's favorite summertime recipes.
The book, titled The Hamptons, Food, Family, and History, features 130 healthy, fresh, seasonal recipes, broken down into categories by location. In the East Hampton section of the book, for example, are recipes such as mixed berry apple and oat muffins, cold poached salmon, and country chicken chili. Recipes are accompanied by beautiful photographs and sketches, and each of the book's 4 sections (Southampton, Amagansett, East Hampton, and Montauk), are introduced through essays written by the author about the family's connection to that particular town. Last time we checked, the drama over at Surf Lodge seemed to be nearing an end. But the trial, which has been postponed multiple times before for a variety of reasons, has been adjourned again until May 14.
The adjournment this time is due to the defense's new lawyer, Thomas Horn, who only took on the case earlier this month. In an effort to get a number of the 686 violations that Surf Lodge accumulated last summer dismissed, Horn has filed a motion. More»

P.Diddy had an unwelcome house guest earlier this month, and it wasn't the first time. 30-year-old Quamine Taylor has been going to Diddy's East Hampton mansion since 2001, he told The New York Post from his cell at Suffolk Country Jail, and this is his second time being arrested for breaking into the singer's home. We still have a few months until beach season, but the 2,900 non-resident East Hampton beach-parking permits are already sold out, and it's the rich and famous who have snagged the last few. According to the New York Post, Coldplay drummer Will Champion bought the last of the $325 parking permits, which sold out in record time this season.
