[Photo via] The lines in the Hamptons this weekend were record-breaking long. Stopping to get gas or running into CVS easily cost you a minimum 20-minute wait. But one of the longest lines of them all wrapped the BookHampton shop in East Hampton on Friday afternoon. There was no agitated impatience on this line, as eager fans waited for the meet and greet with Oscar winner turned author, Gwyneth Paltrow. She gladly signed copies of her recently completed project, a collection of 150 recipes, called "My Father's Daughter: Delicious, Easy Recipes Celebrating Family and Togetherness."

What a hurricane! It's the day after the most wild night to hit the stretch of 27 East, and after spending a solid amount of hours with lack of electricity, internet or television, all I can think about right now is getting a good meal and surfing the web. [Photo: Countess LuAnn strikes a pose but doesn't strike out.] It was another ol' ball game out at East Hampton's Herrick Park as they hosted the 63rd Annual Artists vs. Writers softball game. The game raised a whopping $73,000 for local charities East End Hospice, East Hampton Day Care Learning Center and Phoenix House, according to Patch. This year's underdog, the Writers, came ready to play beating the Artists 17-12. Their newest team member, former Yankee Jim Leyritz, might have been one of the reasons behind the team's victory. Saturday's game drew a large 1,000 crowd thanks to the all-star lineup of Alec Baldwin, Christie Brinkley, Lori Singer, Josh Charles, Jim Leyritz, Countess LuAnn de Lesseps, Rod Gilbert, David O'Leary, Mike Lupica and many more. Dogs, jewelry and drinks made Friday night a particularly tempting night for many Hamptons women who ventured to the London Jewelers boutique in East Hampton for a different kind of cocktail party. The Udell family's London Jewelers and the Animal Rescue Fund of the Hamptons came together to host The Pet Project, a cocktail party where guests could get a buzz and adopt a puppy. A brilliant strategy that could lead to some big life altering additions. (And was banned in the West Village.) More»
