Dear Natty -
I keep reading in all of the magazines that cropped tops are back in style. I love the way it looks on the models, but can't figure out how to wear them in real life. Is it actually possible, or should this style be left to the pros?

Dear MM -
You're right about one thing, cropped tops did crop up all over the runways for s/s 2012 (Prada, Proenza Schouler, Donna Karan…), and after a few seasons of sneaking up in small doses - it's safe to say that they're a bona fide trend. While micro-mini anything (skirts, dresses, tops) are always best left to the fit of body, they can actually be much more elegant than other “mini” trends. Two down, two to go! London Fashion Week is officially over and the stylish set has moved on to Milan. Often looked at as the fashion capital of the world, Milan is home to design houses like Armani, Prada, and Versace, and this Fashion Week is sure to put out some of the best shows of the season. After dozens of runways hows and umpteen presentations, Fashion Week has finally come to a close. For many in the industry, it can be exhausting to keep up the pace for all 7 (8, 9...) days of Fashion "Week." But what keeps us all going, is the excitement of seeing something new come down the runway - something new to covet, lust after and dream about until next fall. As the week wound down, I caught up with show-goers to reflect on the trends they've spotted - and what we can expect once the collections hit the shelves 6 months from now.
If you can't actually be at the shows, there's no better way to catch up with the happenings on and off the runway than with Instagram. Enjoy the hustle and bustle of New York Fashion Week from your own couch, while we brave all of the elements live from the front row.

BCBG and Nicholas K were among the first designers showing in the tents this week. We caught up with fashion bloggers The Glamourai, Fashion Toast and Allyson in Wonderland to see what they're wearing to kick off the week. Stylist Shail Upadhya is seeing spots, and Lord and Taylor's Lauren Wolfenden can't get enough Cynthia Rowley!
