BCBG and Nicholas K were among the first designers showing in the tents this week. We caught up with fashion bloggers The Glamourai, Fashion Toast and Allyson in Wonderland to see what they're wearing to kick off the week. Stylist Shail Upadhya is seeing spots, and Lord and Taylor's Lauren Wolfenden can't get enough Cynthia Rowley!

Last night doggies strutted the catwalk donned in leather S&M outfits for a raucous crowd of hipsters at Westway, and by the turn out (and amount of photographers there) you would've have thought it was a show for the hottest new designer. Gone are the days of the "All You Can Drink" birthday specials for beer enthusiasts at the shuttered Stanton Public. In it's place Noel Ashman and company are opening a new lounge in what they consider NYC's next hot neighborhood for night crawlers.
Last night I attended a pre-opening construction party at Ashman's new spot The Elsinore. The party was true to theme as the space is still very raw (you close the bathroom doors by placing the latch into a hole in the wall), leaving much to the imagination in terms of what the finished product will look like. It's Fashion Week though, so plywood stall doors be damned, you gotta throw a party! More»
Well today officially marks the beginning of Fashion Week. And, there's nothing like starting the week off with an official ribbon ceremony with the Giants' Victor Cruz! Other things that make absolutely no sense: Charlie Rose's undying friendship with George Clooney, "Bradying," Nespresso machines and Buzzfeed.
W Hotels Global Fashion Director Jenné Lombardo kicked off fashion week last night with Fashion Next at Lilium at the W Union Square. Fashion Next, which features up-and-coming designers, is currently in its fourth season. The 2012 designers included Bibhu Mohapatra, Nomia, and Rochabeau, who also participated in the event last year, as well as newcomers Haus Alkire and Suzanne Rae. W’s Director of Cocktail Culture Joseph Boroski created fashion-themed cocktails including the “Breath Mint,” a rum, mint leaves, and lime drink that was served in a small spray bottle for guests to spritz directly into their mouths.

Italy's Vogue Editor's golden, long and thick locks and fit frame are not what has been granting her an abundance of publicity. Franca Sozzani, Vogue Italia's editor in chief, has been making strides on American fashion sense in a whole new way though a different approach: less talking, more doing.

It was my favorite party of Fashion Week 2011 and everyone was getting in on the fun (you can spot me totally getting into blogger mode as my subject was totally getting into her fashion pose mood, above). Ari Seth Cohen's (a former GofG'er!) party for Advanced Style, his site documenting the sartorial splendors of fashion subjects in their last stages of life, has taken off. And, last night was no indication he or it have any plans for slowing down. He brought in the young style rookie, Tavi Gevinson, to help him host a "cross-generational fashion week celebration of style, wisdom, classic elegance and flamboyance at the Ace Hotel." The result was magical. More»

Fashion week started a little early for One Management as they celebrated their 10 year anniversary last night at Hiro Ballroom at the Maritime Hotel. The highlight of the night was when rockstar Courtney Love came out to help the brand celebrate with a live performance. A very select few VIP guests followed her to the opening of Nur Khan's much anticipated new spot, The Electric Room. More»
