Toronto Fashion Week kicked off this week with a bash inside live rock venue Tattoo Rock Parlour for their Timebomb Tuesday Party inviting Mark the Cobrasnake along to capture fashion-savvy club hoppers showing off off their partying skills for the camera. DJ Nasty Nav took on the turn tables while the booze-craving group of Canadian party-goers shredded the dance floor… More»

Balenciaga After PartyNicolas Ghesquiere (as always) hit another grand slam this Paris Fashion Week, receiving rave reviews for both the Balenciaga and Balmain collections he designed. Interestingly enough, the designer was M.I.A. at the Balenciaga afterparty at Le Baron, where guests like Alexander Wang, Hamish Bowles, Harley Viera-Newton, and Leigh Lezark were anxiously awaiting his arrival. Lily AllenLily Allen performed live during Chanel’s ready-to-wear show in Paris, part of the women’s wear portion of Fashion Week in the City of Lights. Designer Karl Lagerfeld welcomed front row seat contenders including Claudia Schiffer, Sean Lennon, Prince and model/musician Irina Lazareanu to his runway, a Western style stage complete with distressed wood planks, lanterns and hay. We are not generally proponents of things rural or any bumpkin-seeming setting. However, this being the work of the Kaiser, it looks nothing short of genius. More»

Derek Blasberg, fashion reporter and star magnet, has had quite the busy fall.  After taking on the insanity of NY fashion week, where we spotted him at every front row, and every party worth going to, he headed to London to show the Brits how a FW is properly done.  There he hobnobbed  with loads of British socials, and even had some time for partying-as evidenced at left at a party where he ran into our friend The Cobrasnake. The party is worth taking a gander at, if only to see what happens when you provide communal drinks and long plastic straws for guest.  Today, Mr. Blasberg is off to Paris, and off to more fashion shows, parties, and hobnobbing with stars. Keep up with him on twitter HERE. More photos below… More»

After some lovely ladies jumped to the other side of the pond for London Fashion Week, they also found their way to the Burberry show’s afterparty at the Horseferry House. Creative Director Christopher Bailey celebrated with brand face Emma Watson, as well as Mario Testino, Harvey Weinstein, Victoria Beckham, Alexa Chung and Agyness Deyn. The last two ladies took a turn at the DJ booth, between band sets by the Kooks. This looks so fun. If our feet didn’t still hurt, we might actually feel a little nostalgia for our own tent time. But they do, so we don’t. Not yet, anyway. More»

Running from one show to the next, and party hopping can take a toll on a girl (or a boy!). So how did Rachelle, Douglas Marshall and I do it all week? Sorry, no magic spells to share with you, but we can let you know what we brought around in our bags all week to get us through the madness. Between the three of us, we think we should have you pretty much covered. Just in case you find yourself in a bind come FW Fall ‘10. See ya in February! Yesterday, Saks Fifth Avenue hosted a Roger Vivier cocktail party with former Chanel/Lagerfeld muse Inès de la Fressange in the label’s department, a sharp setting of tall heels, clutches and killer accessories.  Alexandra Lebenthal, Lydia Fenet, Kimberly Guilfoyle Villency, Anisha Lakhani and Allison Aston came for a little power browsing and leisurely sipping in the store, a low key event to round out Fashion Week.

In a blink it seems like Fashion Week came and went, but yesterday’s conclusion included some highlights to close things out with a bang. Among them the always star-packed Calvin Klein show. More»
