Last night, Tommy Hilfiger and The Cinema Society threw a party for the new movie "Precious" at the Crosby Street Hotel. This indie flick about an illiterate, overweight Harlem woman certainly has an unexpected fanbase in the hearts of New York Cities rich and fashionable elite. Among those who showed up for the screening and afterparty were Agyness Deyn, Amy Sacco, Carol Alt, Carson Kressley, Fern Mallis, General Colin Powell, Iman, Johannes Huebl and Olivia Palermo, newly-engaged Mamie Gummer, Patrick Demarchelier, Neel Shah, Quincy Jones, Rebecca Guinness, Terrence Howard, Sandra Bernhard, Fabiola Beracasa, Kyra Sedgwick, Alexandra Richards Lee Daniels and Gabourey Sidibe. In what was no doubt the biggest assembly of Fashion A Listers since Fashion Week, The Fashion Group International's "Night Of Stars" proved to be just that. Michael Kors, Fern Mallis, Dita von Teese, Iman, Mary J.Blige, James Franco, Tommy Hilfiger, Jon Bon Jovi, Oscar De La Renta, Grace Coddington, Aerin Lauder, Emmy Rossum, Hamish Bowles, Vera Wang and Andre Leon Talley all gathered Cipriani Wall Street to honor oustanding individuals in the world of Fashion. The importance of a good weave was duly noted last night in Chris Rock's film, "Good Hair." Inspired by his daughter when she asked "Daddy, how come I don't have good hair?" Rock decided to delve into the black cultural phenomenon of the importance of "good hair."
