[All photos via The Cobra Snake] They say that Levis blue jeans and their mass appeal to Soviet teenagers helped us defeat the USSR and win the Cold War. If that's true, then I wonder if we're similarly using celebrity-fronted bands to help subdue Europe. Based on these photos of Jared Leto's band 30 Seconds To Mars playing a massive crowd of enthusiastic and almost entirely female Parisians, it looks like our soulless culture is once again gaining traction. In writing about the 2011 Tony Awards, and their questionable fashion choices yesterday, I messed up and inadvertently included a red carpet picture from last year. No, thank you; socialites have been fleeing the city since Memorial Day. Let's take a look at where they've been going... More»

Poor France.  They cannot--figuratively and literally--win when it comes to the World Cup.  This year they've performed less than impressively, and have had some scandalous internal conflicts as well. More»

When watching the USA vs. UK game with a friend this past weekend--a friend who, bless her heart, is soccer illiterate--she asked me what that "buzzing" was?  "Is there something wrong with the TV?" She asked.  What she was referring to is the insane amount of noise football fans make.  The cacophony is so great that it is clearly audible when watching a match from the relatively quiet comfort of your own home.  But if you prefer raucous football fanatics to the silence of your living room, there's an App for that.
