Last night, Karl Lagerfeld showcased his latest body of work, a series of portraits etched onto giant glass panels with fire and acid. The exhibit, titled "Fire Etchings" debuted at the Galerie Gmurzynska in St. Moritz, Switzerland where it will be on display until March 23rd. The designer features some of his current muses including Freja Beha Erichsen, Aymeline Valade, and rapper, Theophilus London. The French fashion house, Chanel, has taken their popular little black jacket, originally launched in 1954, and created an exhibit featuring 113 black & white photographs of celebrities adapting the unisex jacket into their own style. The one-week exhibit kicked off last night in SoHo at 18 Wooster Street with an exclusive party.
Lagerfeld collaborated with French Vogue editor, Carine Roitfeld, to create the $98 coffee table book which will be compiled of the photos from the exhibit, and titled The Little Black Jacket: Chanel's Classic Revisited. The book will be available for purchase on August 15.
