[Photos by RICHARD BLAKELEY] This last Friday, Gawker’s rooftop played host to a Media Beer Pong Tournament. Round-Robin styled games began promptly at 7pm, with the tournament starting at 8. 16 Teams were on hand to prove their worth in Bud Light on Denton’s turf. The Championship came down to Blip.tv and College Humor, with Blip.tv winning by a single cup! Wondering what the internet nerds do for fun on a Friday? Look no further. More photos below… More»

With his trademark sweat sheen and whiskey breath, Priyantha Silva conned his way Bryant Park’s Southwest Porch opening on Monday. The usual drunken stumbling, hand kissing and bragging commenced. He made sure to let several people know about his relationships with “seventeen year old girls” and of course that he has won numerous Oscars during his “fabulous filmmaker” career. Why do I have a feeling he wasn’t an invited guest of Tom, Robert, or even Kelly?

Internet Week’s still going on?! You betcha it is.  These dorks have years of partying to catch up on- am I right? Last night, after the “popular nerds” -um  how’s that for a paradox, gathered to watch hear Their Omnipotent Leader Barry Diller speak at the Rockefeller center, they moved onwards down to Webster Hall to mingle with the plebs (Gawker commenters and the likes), at DIGG’s Diggnation party. (MC HAMMER CAME!)  From here they moved on to M2 for Thrillist’s party, or maybe Gawker’s rooftop soiree. Whatever order they chose to make them in, they were sure to see this guy running around at all three parties.

Gawker held their second big rooftop party in the drizzling rain, a perfect dark and stormy atmosphere for their “Blood Copy” party; a viral marketing site for HBO’s True Blood that managed to get Nick Denton’s crew into some hot water for the blurring of advertising and editorial boundaries. But no journalistic fangs were bared last night, in fact, we hardly saw any journos at all! Last night, several History Channel fans braved the brisk temperatures to check out the Gawker rooftop for the “Expedition Africa Screening.” The series, which follows four modern-day explorers as they sail towards the unknown deep inside Tanzania, premieres this Sunday at 10pm.  Created by Mark Burnett, (the Survivor creator), this unique show is sure to satisfy those extreme adventure lovers out there.  You know, similar to the ones willing to brave a chance encounter with Denton.  More»

Our neighbors at Gawker have gotten the memo: the internetters loves themselves a rooftop shin dig! Following G of G’s launch of rooftop season last weekend (and we were thrilled some Gawkers stopped in), the site hosted a rooftop party for Starz’s new show “Party Down” to reward their loyal “starred” commentators and readers. [Adrien Field inside the Gawker offices-he brought wine!]

What happens when you put an overly enthusiastic photographer and a gay socialite in Hayden-Harnett rainboots and bowties together?  Big. Big. Things…Huge. Nick McGlynn has seemed to team up with Adrien Field in a quest for total world domination. With Adrien’s in at the socialite soiree’s and McGlynn’s access to Nick Denton, both seem to be getting what they need out of the relationship.  But what does this mean for Julia Allison the rest of us? More photos from their adventures at Gawker below… More»
