Hey, you with the tan lines and the Corolla that's still sporting Connecticut plates. Welcome to L.A. We know you've been talking up SoCal to all your Emerson buddies ever since you landed an internship in the WME mailroom, but now you're out here and you're trying to mine your extensive knowledge of Entourage to think of things to do this summer. One small snafu: you're not a movie star yet, and that $11.63 an hour that Ari's paying you isn't going to support the groovy lifestyle of bangin' club nights that you had envisioned. Lucky for you, L.A. is chock full of great things to do on a budget and we've got the low-down on 10 full days of fun for under $20. More»
[Photo by Billy Budd via] It's been a while, and well... I know I’ve been gone. It isn't because I didn't want to be here, it's because I was frankly so busy (new job, new place, initiating cohabitation, smidge of food poisoning) I was barely a shadow, and shadows can't type or look at art or stuff... or something. What I'm trying to say, is I missed you guys and I missed sharing with you all the awesome art offerings our lovely city has to offer you. So if you will, have me back, I would like to present you with the following: More»
It's MAY! The sun is shining, waves are crashing, I'm bummed because I had to pay rent... again (what's up with that?), and I need to celebrate another week of making it through work and not running away from my responsibilities and posting camp over on the beach. Did you make it through another week too? Congrats! Look how responsible we are! So this weekend, I'll catch you near the water during the day, near the art at night? Sounds like a plan to me! More»
Nothing happened in art this week. APRIL FOOLS! Man, I really got you there didn't I? I didn't? Weird, I totally thought that was going to work. The beginning of spring summer is upon us, and that means long leisurely walks between galleries and across museum grounds soaking up some much needed Vitamin D then going to a little café to discuss said art and other happenings with a nice cool glass of Vitamin W. Where will I see you this weekend? More»
To make up for last week (I was sick and didn't do one, did you notice? You did?! You're sweet) I am going to do my best ever art round up. Maybe even the best art round up the world has ever seen! Or, you know, just a really good one. More»
Can you believe it's February already? I know I can't. Not that you can tell because unlike those sad NYers we have lovely weather where I could even wear shorts, if I were the sort of person who wore shorts! I'm not though, so enough of this weather and fashion talk, let's get to the real stuff. Art it is! More»
Hello all. It has been a pretty busy week in the art world. We have wonky art fairs, crazy auction prices, new shows, free admission, the list goes on an on. Luckily I pared it down for you into a more digestible size for better absorption. Shall we begin? More»

We sat down with Anne Pasternak for a few questions about Creative Time's past and future, as well as the importance of having an awareness about public art in the city.
