Besides having friends like buisness partner Jamie Mulholland, Sports Illustrated model (and wife of Andy Roddick) Brooklyn Decker, Michael Musto, Alan Rich, Rob McKinley, Sean Evans, Autumn Holley,  Steve Kasuba Jasmin Rosemberg, and others; these two gems on the left showed up, and put on quite a show!

Memories of your summer nights spent on the deck of Surf Lodge starting to make you blue? It’s time to head over to Goldbar, to show Jamie Mulholland and Jayma Cardosa your love.  Last Thursday, the hotspot on Broome celebrated it’s two year Anniversary with all kinds of sweets (both edible and as eye-candy). The Talkhouse’s Nick Krauss came to pay his summer friends respect, as well as, DJ Cassidy, Michael Musto, Mike Heller, Steve Kasuba, and many more.

Spring is officially here. So sayeth the hottest young members of the NYC social set. Because when Luigi Tadini and Amanda Hearst are in charge, everything becomes official. Even Seasons. Last night, the two brought together some of their friends to toast spring with Dom Perignon at Goldbar. And, besides the reward of running into all of their old friends who have all come out of hibernation, guests were in for a real treat with both Richards sister’s on the DJ booth and live performers keeping everyone on their toes. ‘Vintage Cocktail Attire’ was recommended.

Jennifer Aniston and John Mayer stopped by Goldbar last night, we get it.  Seriously it’s all over the news, you hadn’t heard?  However, contrary to popular belief, the Golden couples appearance wasn’t even the most eventful thing that happened at the hot-spot on Broome. Odin, one of the hottest destinations for menswear in NYC, hosted a party there last night to celebrate the launch of their website odinnewyork.com, as well as their new woman’s boutique Pas de Deux. Store founders Eddy Chai and Paul Birardi hosted the evening, and guests included Phillip Lim, Robert Geller, Andi Muise, and a host of gorgeous fashionistas.

Last night, after a truffle pizza snack at Mercer Kitchen, a marathon after party at Follies, gnocchi and wine at Bobo, and champagne and dessert at Raoul’s, we just weren’t ready for Sunday night to end. So, we decided to stop by Goldbar.  The place was HOPPING!  We ran into friends we hadn’t seen in a long time. Sunday has been one of my favorite nights for awhile now and this one is yet another testimony to its strength as a valid night life contender.

Jamie Mulholland has always managed to stay ahead of the curve.  Whether it’s turning the eastern most tip of the island into the hottest place to spend your summer, or staking out the territories of the Bahamas, and, more recently, Dubai; many just look to see what Jamie and his partner Jayma Cardosa are up to and follow suit accordingly. Goldbar has withstood the test of time in Manhattan, still managing to cater to an elite crowd of club goers, and, with the unvieling of the new Cain Luxe tonight, Jamie may be just the man needed to turn around a little block of street in Chelsea.  With flip flops on and South African accent in tow, the “Bru” gives me the scoop:

Tell me about the new Cain Luxe.  Did you look at other locations? How did you settle on staying put (on 27th street)?
Cain Luxe is a brand new concept.  Everything’s been ripped out and we have installed a top of the line sound system that you won’t find anywhere in the city.  Of course we looked at other venues, but this is such a great space.  It’s over 5,000 square feet and this area is really going through a change.  With the new Highline going up, and no police coming around like usual.  I know that the top venues on the street are staying and the others will most likely leave.  Mark my words: 27th street is going to be hot again!

UPDATE: Sorry to burst everyone’s bubble, but we just got new confirmation from the horse’s mouth that Gossip Girl will NOT be filming at Goldbar.  The film crew was actually part of a feature film.  Apparently GG asked to film there but Goldbar turned them down.

OMFG! Gossip Girl is shooting at my favorite neighborhood spot, “Goldbar“. First we heard this:

A Little Birdy reports from Nolita “They are shooting a movie or tv show inside Goldbar - lots of trucks and help wandering around.  Looks like a semi serious production.  The Little Italy Euro tourists are loving that shit though.“[DBTH]

And then, after asking around, confirmed that there will most definitely be scenes in the upcoming season of Gossip Girl from inside Goldbar….a favorite of the actors in real life! How many days do we have until the season premiere?  It’s the only thing I have to look forward to summer being over.  I wonder if they talked one of the Izzy Golds into making a cameo??

Yesterday was the birthday of one of our most amazing and special friends, the beautiful sex pot, Ford model, Jessica Bamberger (aka bambam). We started the night off with dinner and drinks at new hotspot Crispo in Chelsea. There we dined on some of the city’s best carb-packed food (We passed on most of it!). We find it amazing that models really do eat.

UPDATE: Interview with Richie Rich

From Ice Princess, to Club Kid, to Fashion Mogul, Richie Rich has always been a superstar to us. Many of our friends find our mild obsession odd, but we don’t care. Last night, while Kate Hudson was hanging with Ron Burkle at Rose Bar, and Diddy was causing chaos at Goldbar, Richie Rich was giving us goosebumps at Bobo. When we were randomly seated across from the famous diva at dinner, we knew we were in for a treat, and it wasn’t going to be from any culinary cuisine. (Full review of the newly opened west village hot spot to follow).

For those of you who are unaware of who Richie Rich is (and it’s not the comic character), he’s a kid from California that, after training under Kristi Yamaguchi, joining the Ice Capades and touring the world, decided to move to New York and become one of the most fab of all the Club Kids, working at all of the city’s hottest clubs while simultaneously starting a career as a recording artist and unleashing various pop singles such as “Magic” and Collision.” Those theatrical talents came in hand when he started making his own clothing, which got picked up by Patricia Field. Thus, Heatherette was founded in 1994 (with Travis Rains) and the rest is history. He is still hanging out with the hottest Socialites and Hipsters, but now it’s because they all want to be part of his show (Tinsley Mortimer is a regular model for them).

But back then, Richie Rich was just a kid trying to find his place in life. The Clubkids were infamous for taking things to the EXTREME. The movie Party Monster is a good documentation of this. Based on the book by James St. James, the film showcases the wild life of the real life “party monsters”. The premeire party for the film was held at the infamous Plaid night club (pictured below) and included such guests as Macaulay Culkin, Seth Green, Wilmer Valderrama, Nicky Hilton, Kenny Kenny, and Chloe Sevigny (the old “It Girl” who has grown up a bit, staring on HBO’s Big Love and recently launching a fashion line of her own).

Question: What exactly were all of you trying to achieve in the heyday? Was the club kid phenomenon just a major bid for attention?
