After tearing up Central Park Summer Stage and SPiN, Phoenix did a few more US tour dates, frequented the early season episodes of Gossip Girl’s soundtrack, and then landed back home in the City of Lights. With dates in Montpellier, Lyon, Lille and Bordeaux among the stops; the group is really enjoying their tour du pays. When Chace Crawford has a good night, looks-wise, it’s sort of unfair to humanity. And last night at the premiere of Penn Badgley’s new movie, The Stepfather, Chace was having a very, VERY good night. Like, possibly the best he’s ever looked. Also in attendance were Ed Westwick, Taylor Momsen, Matthew Settle, Connor Paolo, and Jessica Szohr (also looking even prettier than usual. Which, again, is not fair, because if anyone deserves to have a night where they look prettier than usual it shouldn’t be a cast member of Gossip Girl.) Suspiciously missing? It’s nice to see that, unlike Chuck, Ed Westwick appreciates “culture” as a word encompassing much more than bespoke tailoring. The British Gossip Girl actor turned out for the opening night of Hamlet on Broadway last night, as did Barbara Walters and David Hyde Pierce. The latest incantation of Shakespeare’s classic definitely appeals to the younger audience, as Jude Law plays the grieving, vengeful lead. You expect the stylish young stars to look perfect on television, but it’s irritating to see them in between takes in SoHo or at events ALWAYS LOOKING PERFECT.
