Want to celebrate the holiday season in the city, but avoid all of the tourists? Unfortunately, that's humanly impossible, but these five festive activities can still be enjoyable regardless. Rather than stressing over the holiday season, get out there and experience a few traditional activities that New York has to offer during this time of year. More»

New York City is one of the largest cities in the world so it's only normal that it's filled with strange stories of all sorts. Where else would a man think it completely normal and safe to keep zoo animals as pets in his apartment? Here are a few of New York's most "wtf" stories.

I get asked for recommendations for where to go in NYC on a weekly basis, esp from friends visiting from out of town. And, I figured, if I was going to put the time into producing a "guide to NYC" for friends and family, I may as well get some GofG mileage out of it. Here's everything you need to know to dress, drink, eat, and live like a character out of Mad Men. (Don Draper not included.) More»

Bridgehampton Mercedez Benz Polo

Polo everywhere! This weekend had two competing venues, with Mercedes Benz Polo in Bridgehampton, and the Ivy Cup Polo match in Greenwich, CT. Lots of horses, drinks, and fields replete with socialites, Peter Brant and his wife Stephanie Seymour.

Train ride from Grand Central Station to Greenwich, CT. Note the nice wood paneling in the back of Metro North trains. It reminds us a lot of 80s wood-paneled station wagons, a la The Waltons, etc. It is no wonder that MTN still can't turn a profit.
