Yesterday, Ron Frasch and Glenda Bailey hosted a book party in honor of Hutton Wilkinson and his new work, “More is More: Tony Duquette,” at Saks Fifth Avenue. Hamish Bowles, Tory Burch, Amy Fine Collins, Glenda Bailey, Pamela Fiori, Jared Clark and Anne Caruso showed in support of the author, a designer who worked under the subject of his book for five years as first an apprentice and then an assistant designer. The pages are a second volume for the president of Tony Duquette, Inc., and detail the late American creative’s elaborate, ornamental works including sculpture, jewelry, gardens, film sets and interiors. In what was no doubt the biggest assembly of Fashion A Listers since Fashion Week, The Fashion Group International’s “Night Of Stars” proved to be just that. Michael Kors, Fern Mallis, Dita von Teese, Iman, Mary J.Blige, James Franco, Tommy Hilfiger, Jon Bon Jovi, Oscar De La Renta, Grace Coddington, Aerin Lauder, Emmy Rossum, Hamish Bowles, Vera Wang and Andre Leon Talley all gathered Cipriani Wall Street to honor oustanding individuals in the world of Fashion. Also in attendance was a very demure Gwen Stefani, whose face is so drastically changed with softer makeup we weren’t sure it was even her. More photos below.. More»

Last night, Santiago Barberi Gonzalez hosted a dinner at the Nancy Gonzalez showroom to celebrate Pamela Golbin’s new book on Madeleine Vionnet. A fashion-minded group including Vogue’s Hamish Bowles, Vanity Fair’s Amy Fine Collins and Nina Garcia of Elle, Marie Claire and “Project Runway” were just some of those seated to dine in honor of the author, the Curator in Chief at the distinguished (and a personal obsession of mine) Musee de la Mode et du Textile of the Louvre, in Paris. Nicolas Ghesquiere (as always) hit another grand slam this Paris Fashion Week, receiving rave reviews for both the Balenciaga and Balmain collections he designed. Interestingly enough, the designer was M.I.A. at the Balenciaga afterparty at Le Baron, where guests like Alexander Wang, Hamish Bowles, Harley Viera-Newton, and Leigh Lezark were anxiously awaiting his arrival. The style icon hosted a private screening of her short film, Mnenosyne, last night at the Hudson Hotel Library. On-hand to celebrate were Hamish Bowles, Margherita Missoni, Genevieve Jones and Derek Blasberg, who were no doubt only too happy to attend a non-fashion related party before the onslaught begins…More photos below.
