Even though born and bred Upper East Sider Ariel Moses swore she would never watch the inane Bravo show NYC Prep, I somehow talked the Horace Mann and Columbia educated New Yorker into submitting herself to the incessant nonsense that is the Gossip Girl knock-off. Afterall, being a transplant, I could never fully understand what these kids were talking about (besides that they sounded like absolute idiots… am I allowed to say that about 16 year olds?). And what better way for Ariel to express her true feelings about the “real”ity show than on Twitter!

Surf fans braved the rain and found friendlier waters at Alison Nelson’s Chocolate Bar at Henri Bendel last night, where they gathered for the launch of Old Soul Surfboards. Guests posed with the hand-made, vintage-inspired boards while admiring the art of She Hit Pause Studios photographer Matt Schwartz. Four lucky party goers went home with raffle prizes, including a Chocolate Bar gift set, surfing lessons from Old Soul board maker Joe Freeman, a She Hit Pause surf print, and a gift certificate to the Chocolate Bar. Tuesday night, the Chocolate Bar in Henri Bendel played host to the Girlfriend Getaways Magazine Spring Issue Premier Party, aptly titled “Cabana Boys & Cocktails.” Hosted by Bernadette Haley and Nina Willdorf, the event gave away a trip to Cancun for three, horoscope readings, and beauty gift bags. If you haven’t heard of Eric Daman, you may not be among the most fashion-saavy of the world. However, if you haven’t heard of Gossip Girl, you’ve been living under a rock. Eric Daman is the costume designer for the popular series, and recent designer for the Henri Bendi windows on 5th Avenue. Last night, YSL Beate & Henri Bendel hosted a celebration in honor of the designer and the show and hundreds of young fans came to see the Gossip Girls walk the red carpet with their designer in tow.
