On Wednesday night in LA, Maroon 5 held their 8th Annual Halloween Party at Hollywood Forever Cemetery. Hundreds of people came out for the event, which was Carnival themed. Complete with a fun house, carnival games, an In-N-Out Burger truck and copious amounts of booze it, was once again one of the best parties of the night. Robert Pattinson, Aaron Paul, Katy Perry and Aziz Ansari were just a few of the celebrity guests who hit the graveyard throwdown DJ'ed by Chris Holmes and Thom York as Daft Punk. Check out the party! From a grungy basement to the Staples Center, it's pretty safe to say that no matter where it happens, The xx live is sure to be a spectacular show. But seeing them play in a graveyard where old Hollywood movie stars and rock icons like the Ramones have been laid to rest with Halloween right around the corner is kind of on another level of awesome. We know because we were fortunate enough to attend their show at Hollywood Forever Cemetery Saturday night for what was, in our opinion, one of L.A.'s best live music events of the year.
I really feel bad for the old, dead movie stars interred at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery. Seriously, how is Cecil B. DeMille supposed to get any sleep whatsoever when every weekend a bunch of KCRW geeks are tromping around up there having an indie rock picnic and spilling Two Buck Chuck all over your final resting place? But I guess, all other things being equal, ol' Cecil might have gotten a kick out of last weekend's Dia De Los Muertos festivities. While I'm sure it was noisy, and therefore hard to get a nap on, at least the focus was once again all about the deceased. More»
