If you've spent any time with us in recent months, you might know that the re-invention of Westside nightlife is a subject near and dear to our hearts. Even setting aside the fact that I live closer to the ocean than I do to Doheny, which is basically the DMZ of big-name nightspots*, we should all want more hip, fun attractions on the beautiful and spacious Westside. With Brent Bolthouse's The Bungalow serving as the latest offering from a Hollywood club king to open in and around Santa Monica, we may be on the verge of finally saying goodbye to a landlocked social scene. For an unofficial opening, last night's preview of Bootsy Bellows, the new nightlife venture from Darren Dzienciol, Brian Toll, John Terzian and David Arquette, certainly went off with quite a bang, and we're not talking about the paparazzi kerfuffle the sent Paris Hilton tumbling to the ground outside (and I hope for society's sake the only reaction to that breaking news is a resounding yawn). Between the burlesque and cat lady dancers, Keith Richards puppets, live music and candy handouts, far more remarkable things were happening inside the new Rat Pack-inspired club that blew up before it even opened. The dual birthday and new jewelry line launch celebration for man about town and international bon vivant Markus Molinari over the weekend wouldn't have felt right going down any other way.  Deciding to forgo another Cinco de Mayo birthday fiesta, this one involved feather boas, live music performances, Adam Lambert, erotic dancers and an unnecessarily exorbitant dessert spread featuring the entire spectrum of violets that'd have made His Purple Highness blush.
